The apartment was not clean upon arrival — there were spider webs, stained bedsheets that hadn’t been changed, and dirty cups. The host told us to move to another hotel instead of fixing the issue. We had to sleep on top of the sheets and use towels on the pillows. There was also no shampoo, soap, or AC in the single room as advertised. Very disappointing stay.
AUThe views from the room were stunning, the apartment was spacious and in a good location. The host was friendly and responded to messages quickly. The sheets on the bed were comfortable. It was good to be able to have the windows partly or fully open using the shuttered blinds. It was great to have a washing machine, we dried our things on the coat hangers in the bedroom.
The bed sunk in the middle quite significantly. There was an iron but no ironing board. The whole apartment is in need of a deep clean. There were spider webs in the corners sticky spots on the floor. There was a sticky spot with hair in it on the bed head which we had to clean off but we didn’t have any cleaning spray. A lot of the dishes we pulled out to use were dirty and needed washing. There was no tea towels to dry dishes. The bathroom had a mouldy smell, we had to leave the windows open and door closed for the duration of our stay otherwise the smell would become too much. The couch was also quite dirty and the fan in the bedroom was full of dust. I have attached some photos. The towels also had bleach spots on them.

FILocation is excellent with the view of lake from living room and bedroom.
USThe location is the only good point of the property.
The unit is old: 1) the entry to the house is old and dirty 2) bedding and towels are old. We were surprised that the host did not provide shampoo/conditioner and the body soap/gels. There were fruits on the table but they are not fresh (better without it!). Since the unit does not have air conditioning it was quite hot in the afternoon.

We didn't have internet on the way so didn't get the check in instructions but had the host's phone number so asked someone on the street to call her and she arrived in a few minutes
USAmazing views of Lake Como out of both windows! Clean and comfortable apartment with cookies awaiting our arrival. :) (Nice touch!) Giada the host was very nice. All the utensils we needed for our two night stay.
No blankets on bed, only a sheet. No large drying rack for clothes. Cigarette smoke from apartment below wafting into our bedroom at night and the noise from cafe below. Some utensils and dishes were dirty, so we had to wash first before using.
USThe location is unrivaled. You are in walking distance to all things in Varenna and to the ferry terminal without having to worry about driving anywhere. And all of that with an amazing view. Staff was super responsive Apartment is very well equipped for simple meals as well
It would be nice to have a few toiletries available. The markets in Varenna are small and some items can be difficult to find after 6pm
