Ashcroft Apartment - Small Home Away From Home

Clean and good location , good communication with hosts. Fan in bedroom much appreciated .

Could have done with a tv or radio

Clean, light and airy. Everything I needed.

Underfloor heating was a bit of a mystery! It was a very short stay so I didn’t raise it but might be an issue for some.

Shower was powerful and nice. Bathroom clean and met expectations Owners were very friendly and helpful

No towels or bedding or toilet roll available when we arrived. We had to call and request these. Location was hard to find and get to, especially in our small vehicle. There was two possible entry points, the recommended drive which we struggled to find initially as road is very narrow and does not look like you can drive up it. The second entry way was described on the apartment description as a dirt track with a few potholes. This was a massive understatement, the “dirt track” was very steep, completely uneven and extremely dangerous to drive on. I do not think a dirt path was a sufficient description as this still makes it sound as though it is useable. The apartment was not very clean, the bedroom was very dusty and I found when laying in bed my allergies played up due to this and made sleeping difficult The plates in the cupboard were dirty and two had food stains on them The bin provided was extremely small and not suitable if you had been cooking. There were insects all over the walls and ceiling when we arrived and we spent some time removing/killing those. The curtains covering the front door were dirty and had mud stains on them. There was not tv available in the apartment which I thought was disappointing. Most modern places will have a tv available and especially as the apartment was described as a home away from home we did feel this would have been a good addition. The kitchen cupboard with the glasses and plates in clips/hits the ceiling light when you close it. This is unavoidable and worried us as we were concerned it would break. The underfloor heating was capped and we were unable to turn it on. This was also very disappointing as there were no radiators or other ways to heat the apartment. Considering we stayed in November and it was 2 degrees at night made it very chilly in the apartment. We had to go to a nearby Asda and buy a blanket. The bed itself was very creaky and the mattress was not the most comfortable.

Great location, very private with everything you might need. Lovely shower and comfy bed.

Could have done with a comfy chair to relax in but otherwise perfect.

Keys were easy to pick up, hosts left me to my own devices, good WiFi, clear instructions on how to get to the property. Property was very clean with freshly cleaned towels and bedding provided.

There's a bit of a hill getting up to the property, it's really not that bad.

Helpful hosts Kitchen was well equipped Good location for Ashburton and the cookery school, also close to bus stops

It was beautifully kept with parking space and wonderful host. All home supplies were available

Would be better if a bigger bin for waste was available
