Alps Motel & Apartments

Twizel is the gateway yo Mount Cook. The best chance of seeing the whole mountain is in the morning. If you leave for Mount Cook in the morning you will have the astonishing views that you will probably miss if you take up hotel at Mount Cook and arrive in the afternoon. Twizel has a good choice of restaurants. The hotel is brand new. The owner is most kind and helpful. We had a large king bed room with a washing machine, a generous refrigerator, an excellent bed. Considerably less expensive than the Heritage Hotel at Mount Cook.

Just perfect

Apartment is new, with all facilities on site. Location is great, just a few blocks from the shopping area — though Twizel itself is fairly small. Staff are very helpful and even offer complimentary milk for guests. The apartment is well-equipped with everything you need — washing machine, dryer, kitchen paper towels, and a spacious, spotlessly clean bathroom. A great base for exploring the area.

Everything is perfect

We had a big room upstairs (with a lift when taking suitcases), very clean and good kitchenette facilities. Good quality washer/ dryer. Within easy walking distance of the town and restaurants. Plenty of parking. Very distant view of Mount Cook and the Alps.

No window to open other than the sliding door entrance, but there was an air conditioning unit. The balcony outside the room is also a walkway to other rooms, so you had to keep a net curtain drawn if you wanted privacy.

Owner was friendly and lovely to chat with Got all the essentials I need it after a hot big holiday trip. The location is convenient and the room is tidy and big
