Beautiful 2-bedroom in Grays close to Lakeside

Comfortable sofa and beds.

On arrival property bins were overflowing. Garden was knee deep in weeds. Oven smells unclean so couldn’t use. Dust and grime everywhere. Bathroom mould between tiles is inexcusable, just a blatant lack of cleaning. Toilet seat falling off. Mould throughout property. No hot water in kitchen. Furniture falling to bits.

The host was responsive when we reported issues with the hot water and bed cover. The sofa bed in the living room was very comfortable. Smart TV was appreciated

The cleanliness and maintenance of the property really let it down. Try as we did to like the property it just was not possible. We were told cleaners had attended the property that morning but they did a very poor job. BEDROOMS: the furniture surfaces were grimy, the bed covers in the twin room were visibly dirty. The drawers and wardrobes were either really stiff or falling apart. The mattress in the master bedroom was so soft and uncomfortable, you rolled right to the middle making it difficult for 2 people to sleep on it. KITCHEN: we couldn’t open the window because the garden area outside was overgrown and unkempt. GENERAL: The heating units are not adequate for the size of the property. It took so long for the rooms to warm up. There was mould on the walls and ceiling in the kitchen and bathroom respectively.

Owners stated it was not possible to replace battery despite being informed at 7pm. [  ] No duvets on the beds only comforters [  ] Sweet wrappers under sofa and behind bedside tables showing that thorough cleaning has not taken place Due to the property being unfit for purpose I did not stay for the full time booked and found alternative accommodation. The property owner has not responded to my latest communication which was on the day I checked out early.

Location was perfect for a family party 2 minutes walk away.
