"Exceptional"

The lodge was spotless with a real home from home feel.

The bistro was only open for food till 7 p.m., so we didn't get a chance to use it after getting back from visiting attractions.

"Lovely, would do it again"

10.0

Resort was pristine, clean and well kept. Ample parking at main buildings. Lodge was spotless, you had to look hard to tell you weren't the first to ever use it. Good provision of towels and extra pillows. Despite essentially being a big caravan, the mostly felt spacious and had good showers, lovely deep bath and a well equipped kitchen which easily catered for 4. Beds comfortable too and little to no outside noise beyond perhaps a passing car. Loads of storage space, probably need 2-3 car loads to fill all the space. Hot tub was lovely, very clean and warm, even in 4C and raining! There was an outside 13A socket next to the parking space which had no obvious function so i took it as being for car charging. I advised reception of possible higher electricity usage so TBC if they take a tenner or something from deposit to cover it.

Hot tub quite exposed from one side, some screen would be nice. Main building could easily have some half a dozen EV charging points for use for a few hours as St Andrews isn't particularly well equipped compared to similar sized places. 2nd bedroom is a bit tight. There's a full size double wardrobe it doesn't need. You can't fully open the bedside drawers for them hitting the door. One side has appx a 20cm wide access which is really unusable. Remove the wardrobe and move everything over and the room would be great. All places are getting silly with check in/out times and this is no different. Given the costs involved, for a short stay you are losing considerable value. 11am check out and 2pm check in i think is fair but 10am and 4pm is not always ideal.
