Sule Shangri-La, Yangon

Service is a real plus- friendly, helpful and always a big smile. The hotel condition was more Traders than Shangri-la but with redeeming touches eg excellent breakfast buffet, high quality toiletries.

This hotel has everything - central location next to Bogyoke market, business services, great massages and gym, clean, high quality bathrooms and lovely staff. Breakfast is an excellent and vast buffet arrangement and for the lone business traveller the adjoining mall is great for grocery shopping for anything you left behind or a quick solo dinner. The lobby is also a very comfortable place to sit and do work if you need to do so - particularly if you need to escape the heat of the day.

am stay in the club floor and enjoy so much in the lounge....but hope the evening time a bit longer...now only 5:30 - 7:30 pm ....if can till 9pm will be wonderful.

The hotel is well located, the service was good, what we liked the most was the gym... the gym was well equipped, spacious, with very helpful employees, outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna etc... it has all what we were looking for... for the rest of the hotel I wouldn't categorize it 5 star even though it is a shangri-la hotel which is well known for their luxury touch in their properties... somehow the hotel felt like a 4 star trying hard to be 5... it doesn't have the luxury spirit that shangri-la inspires with their properties around the world... room was not bad but the hotel it self felt old in need of a refurbishment, bathtub in rooms is old and not luxurious at all, as well toiletries which for some reason were not replenished during our stay even though we were quite generous tipping the housekeeper. Room service was prompt and adequate. The hotel gave me the impression of a good and solid 4 star hotel but we were expecting to find Shanghai-la spirit and it wasn't there. Rooms were in the small side and that is something which surprised us as we have tried other hotels from this chain and they are always very spacious. Breakfast buffet wasn't bad... when we requested fresh juice we were reassured we were being served fresh juice which it wasn't the case and only after we insisted they brought us freshly squeezed juice... another detail which tells me it isn't a real Shangri-la hotel. I would stay again but with lower expectations and definitely would not pay a 5 star premiu

very nice hotel, a bit worn when compared with Shangri-La hotel in other countries but already very good when comparing with other hotels in Yangon. a bit noisy with the construction site opposite the road that won't finish until 11pm and the nonstop car horns because it is located at the junction of 2 very busy road but overall great services and friendly staff

Staffs were good, cleanliness, everything were all good except for food. Thursday they had japanese buffet mixed with other non japanese like indian and savouries, snacks and sweets. However, taste wasn't good. First of all they placed non halal besides halal, so that ruin my appetite. I am a pescatarian so I tried few of their seafood and indian food. It's oily and the indian food is not what I expected it to taste. I have tried many indian food all over the world but it doesnt taste fantastic. my expectation from shangri-la is higher. the next day morning break fast buffet (initially I went to horizon executive lounge - 95% of the limited food were all beef and unappetising looking food so i went to lobby level 1 for more, and again i saw some japanese sushi again (which doesn't look appealing and fresh to me, like as if it was from the evening dinner). I tried their indian and seafood again. NOt good. Their donuts and even waffles doesn't taste good. I don't enjoy my meals here. Order room service tom yum, its not good. I am not fussy with food. but this is not up to the standards. I tried other shangri-la before, its way better....

Good service and nice friendly staff. This hotel is very centrally located. Very close to the top visit sites and night markets and shopping areas.

Splendid hotel in downtown Yangon close to major tourist attractions. Comfortable and well-appointed guestrooms. Amazing buffet breakfast with a good choice of western and Asian dishes. Health Club well provided with gym and spa facilities. Front of house staff are all well-trained, helpful and welcoming as typical of Shangrila hospitality.
