Cedar Hill Lodge - A Boutique Homestay

Everything was great! Excellent location with amazing views of the mountains. Beautiful and comfortable wooden cottages. Room had floor warmer as well as blanket warmers - very important as the temperature around Shimla in October 2025 was quite low. Delicious food prepared by in-house chef, Ritik, as per our instructions. Very friendly and caring managers, Babloo and Rakesh. Very memorable two days spent at this property.

Nothing to dislike about the property or the staff. Maybe, if there was a smart TV inside the room, it would have been great - it was available in the dining area though.

We liked the common room where we ate and could sit for conversation. We loved the beautiful views of the mountains and the outside seating that allowed us to enjoy them. We really appreciated Bablu and Rakesh. They did a great job with the food and service, and anything else we needed. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a peaceful, restful atmosphere surrounded by a beautiful setting. We didn’t feel the need to leave the property at all except for a walk along the forest road.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

The property is located at a very beautiful location just 15 min away from Shimla. The views from the property are breathtaking. I got to witness my first moonrise as well. The host Atul and Garima and lovely people, they made feel like our home.

We had an absolutely lovely time at Cedar Hill Lodge. They’ve recently renovated the property and the rooms are very comfortable with cute interiors and everything you need. The common room is cute and cozy, and they have an outdoor area where you can chill and work with great views of the mountains. There’s also an open deck where we spent time stargazing. The sunrise and moon rise from here are simply stunning. The chef Jogan whipped up some delicious meals for us, including very good continental food. The place is run by Atul and Garima, who were super helpful with recommendations around the area. Babloo took good care of us and ensured that we had a comfortable stay. Do note that the place is in Chharabra, about 25 minutes away from Shimla. For us this was an advantage since we wanted to be away from the crowds. There are some restaurants nearby serving good food. It’s just across the road from Wildflower Hall, and is also very close (walkable) to a temple and the Rashtrapati Niwas. There are nature trails. We definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with breathtaking views!

Location was great . Great views from the rooms . Rooms were clean and maintained. Staff was helpful

Breakfast option was not so great . We asked for the juice but it was not available and they said poha will be there in breakfast but the next day no poha was provided only parantha and omelette with toast was there . No juice no poha . Less breakfast options was given .

Very well done up rooms, excellent views of the mountains. Loved the bbq in the evening! And the best part - The location. It’s a little away from hustle of Shimla but still very very accessible.

Everything was perfect. Will come again!

The place is done up really nicely, is calm, peacefully perched on top of a hill, amidst a forest of cedar trees and hence the name. The food was also great, we really enjoyed our stay here and shall be returning for sure.
