Monaco Motel - Wildwood Beach & Boardwalk

There was 1 key for all of the doors. Another guest walked into our room while we were sleeping.

Rooms were small and not terribly clean. Bathroom was very small and outdated, also not the cleanest. Second night we were there, my husband killed a roach crawling on our wall. It was OK for the 2 nights but probably would not return. Very convenient, right next to the boardwalk.

Parking was horrible. You'll be asked to double park and either leave your keys with the front desk or you'll get called to move your car if you're blocking someone in. Room wasn't the cleanest. The top sheet had what looked like dried blood stains on it, when my husband and I were unmaking the bed to get the top sheet off, we saw that the mattress liner had mold on it. Husband went to the front desk to inform them. Someone working ( possibly manager) immediately told my husband he could not give him a discount, even though my husband did not ask for a discount. Manager then came to the room to look at the mold. He apologized and my husband helped him strip the mattress liner off the bed. Manager gave us two sheets to put on top of the mattress and told us we would get a different room the following day instead of just replacing the mattress liner. Also, the tub did not drain properly. Next day I was called and told to see the front deck when I arrived back to the hotel to change rooms. Although inconvenient my family moved to the room next door. Room next door has clean bedding which was nice but the flusher on the toilet was broken. Maintenance had to be called and the toilet flusher was rigged back together. Both rooms had terrible lighting, just a table lamp. And the windows in the back end of the room did not work. First room had no smoker detector also. It was good enough for the 3 nights we stayed but some kind of refund or upgrade would have been nice if offered for the inconvenience of having to pack up and move. I won't be booking here again.

This hotel was not fancy by any means but it was clean and on the boardwalk. The location was excellent.

Our room was roomy, clean and looked cute too. We were bothered by the fact that the railing to climb the steps outside were loose in the concrete and the concrete had cracks in multiple places. Our bath was not only small, but barely useable. If you are on the toilet you can lay down your head on the sink. Also, the whole entire toilet was loose and did not appear to be sealed although it didn't leak. Management did let us leave our car in the lot for a few hours after check out. If you can find another place, do so. We booked late and not much was available.
