Aga Reef Resort and Spa

The location is quite special, with the walkway out into the ocean that has both another small pool and a natural rock pool with the backdrop of the island, it feels Jurassic. The snorkelling was a great addition. We loved the room, an ocean view in the main building with a very comfy bed, but the overwater villas did look extra special. The food was pretty good, I think after a few days you might get bored and there aren't many other options nearby. Staff are very friendly.

I saw some local people practicing singing/dancing in the building opposite one day and I wondered why there wasn't any entertainment at all at the resort. The atmosphere did feel a bit flat. Why not put on a fiafia night like many of the other four star resorts on the island? We hired a car and stayed four nights, both of these choices felt like the right ones. The location is out the way, so you'll potentially feel a little stranded without your own transport and after four nights we had experienced all the resort could offer us. Lastly, we weren't made aware of any spa facilities so I'm not sure if they still offer this.

Great accommodation, roomy and well appointed. The food was some of the best we've had in Samoa, and reasonably priced. The staff were always helpful and kind. The best snorkeling in the area right at your doorstep.

Family owned resort. Setting, rooms, staff and facilities were all great. Snorkelling excellent. Thanks also to Rikki for the chance to do some fishing.

Stunning location. Beautiful coral reef. The villas overlook the reef and ocean which means you can snorkel right outside your villa. The villas is spacious and well decorated. When you are in the villa it feels like you are in an over water villa.

Some basic facilities are lacking e.g a directory of services with meals time, contact numbers etc. Some areas require upgrading, paint is peeling in the pool and the outdoor bar wasn’t operating. The front desk service was great but the restaurant staff require a lot more training. We often got the wrong order or paid for something we didn’t order because they got it wrong. The food was delicious though. In the other places we stayed, nothing seemed like too much trouble but here they seem annoyed with even small requests (like refilling water in the room).

The location was fantastic. Daily breakfast was also good with choice of cooked meals. The staff were the standout - exceptional.

Beautiful setting, smaller and quiet, with a reef right on your doorstep.

A bit further out but we found that to be part of the charm.
