Luna Lodge with Hot Tub

On booking the location and size where fabulous

We didn’t have a welcome pack one toilet roll per bathroom for 6 people I towel each Only 3 decent glasses the others where wine glasses the carpet was stained and the property was dusty. We put two beds together and the rubbish underneath was disgusting

The location was perfect, lovely lodge, spotlessly clean

No proper outdoor seating, just some one sofa length seating by with wet cushions, a table and chairs would be nice, to have breakfast outside. Tv reception was poor, it kept cutting out.

The lodge was lovely, location was great

The lodge hadn't been cleaned properly, previously guests had peed on the sofa and the cushions had been turned over. It stunk of human urine. We got the manager out and she removed all the soiled cushions and replaced them, also she arranged for the lodge to be cleaned again and met with the cleaning company manager. After that everything was good. The bar was dog friendly but there were only 2 tables you could use. These had to be booked. With the amount of dogs there it wasn't viable. We therefore only went once on the first afternoon

Lovely relaxing stay, the lodge had everything you needed

Overall this was a nice lodge in a good location for our visit. The property was fitted out to a very good standard and was in good condition. We really liked the open plan living area.

The outdoor furniture seemed to be incomplete - only enough seating for 4 people (and that was cramped) in a 6 bed lodge. The kitchen equipment was the bare minimum - e.g. no grill pan, no salad bowl. The property wasn’t really geared up for guests like us who were doing outdoor activities like swimming at nearby Allerthorpe Lakeland Park. There were no hooks in the bathrooms, not even a towel rail in the en suite, no airer (other than a tiny one outdoors - no use when it rained), no tumble dryer, etc. If you didn’t want to cook and weren’t doing any watersports, it would probably be fine! But overall these were inconveniences that could quite easily be remedied by the property owners. Communication was poor - I sent a couple of questions via booking.com before arrival and never received a response.

It was a beautiful location loved looking over the pond with the wildlife Quiet location friendly people and only 30 minutes from york kids had a great time
