Riverside Inn & Suites Danville Virginia

I understand this place is under renovation, however, I did not feel safe whatsoever! To the point, I rented another room for my weekend stay. The people that lurk around there and that rent rooms there are very shady. You can tell they are locals and absolutely up to No Good! I hope after the renovations are completed, it will turn around.

Great value. All hotels in area were a lot more pricy. Room was clean and service was good. Bathrooms might have been clean but differently in need of upgrade. Hotel courtyard is pretty and looked well maintained.

Facility has been rehabbed at some point and is now in the patch it up phase. Maybe half of the facility is habitable. The rest in disrepair or storage. Staff was nice room was clean, but shabby. Mattress appeared new and was comfortable. Bed was too far above the floor. Shower pees on you. The hand rail in the shower is located perfectly in the way. There was a desk chair but no desk. No instructions on how to use all the remotes to make the TV work so had to ask for help. No additional lock on the door and the bolt didn't work. I showed to the front desk person and he said the latch plate just needed to be adjusted, he'll call an electrician to get it fixed. Electrician?? It was never fixed during my stay. I eventually got it to lock by doing some pulling on the door handle while trying to turn to get it to engage. Bring a flashlight, the room is poorly lit and the switch at the door doesn't work.

Good value and close to the Casino.

My stay was ok , but the service was terrible they didn’t have any extra wash cloths on my first night , no ice machine, no telephone in the room . I have on more reservation with them and after that I don’t think I’m going to stay there again

Well first of all it made me think I was staying at a casino. Not even close. This place was a dump. And no one should ever have to stay at this place. Also I have not received my deposit back yet

Room looked dirty, area was sketchy and loud due to construction work, we arrived after 8 pm, parking was hit or miss to be near the room, overalll horrible experience. True saying, you get what you pay for.

Check in was awful. He tried to tell me I didn't already pay until I pulled up my phone to show I WAS charged. Then asked for a $50 deposit which is fine, but when I handed him $60 he said he was just going to keep it because he didn't have change. We get to the room and it looks basic which is what we expected for the price. It was one night so no big deal. Then we realize there is something white and dried on the blanket (use your imagination grown ups). I went down to the office- because there is no phone and no number listed to call them- and asked for CLEAN bedding. He argued with me that it was clean and when I told him what was on it infront of another customer he rushed me to house keeping and told her to come with me. When I showed her she QUICKLY gathered the bedding and then I realized there was make up all over the sheetz underneath. GROSS. The new bedding didn't smell like clean laundry but the only thing I found wrong with it was cigarette burns in the sheet. -The floor was not swept recently -The tub was all chipped up and painted over (it turned our feet white in the shower so it was not even the right paint) -the wall that separated the room from the hall was covered with ill fitted curtains that you could see the bed through so I used hair claw clips to hold them together. Also, there is a poorly placed mirror that reflects the bed perfectly to the gap between the curtains. Was that on purpose? I don't know....but I do know that everything else was h
