La Héraudière Bed & Breakfast

We were visiting Tours on our way back to the UK. Beautiful city and La Heraudiere is a gem. A little way out of the city but you can catch the tram in which was fun. The hosts were extremely friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Beautiful garden to sit out in too.

Everything was perfect

The breakfast was perfect for us. The bread and croissants served with homemade jams were a f=great way to start off the day.

Not as close to the center of town as we are used to.

After a week in city centres it was a haven of peace and quiet, although handy for Tours.

Love the house and garden. Our bedroom was in the oldest part of the property with its own entrance. Huge room and lovely en-suite. Really comfortable bed. Great breakfasts and a host &hostess who were really helpful and informative about the area. Easy to get onto main transport links. Electric vehicle charging (extra cost) at the house was very convenient.

A little out of the way for restaurants unless prepared for ten minute walk plus a tram ride. Otherwise not much to dislike!

We stayed in the family room which had a main bedroom with a joined bedroom for our student daughter - which she relished as it had a door and protected her from our snores! The Breakfast was lovely as our hosts provided us with a range of homemade jams to accompany a selection of breads - the homemade yoghurt was delicious! The hosts are very friendly and were able to share ideas of places to visit. La Heraudiere is only a short 5 min drive from Tours where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from for an evening meal. Tours is a bustling city with some wonderful attractions and well worth exploring

Accomodation was clean and well presented. Property is a short walk from the tram station, which is a 15 minute ride to the city centre - very convenient and cheap. Our host was also able to provide us with travel passes.

We arrived an hour early (after a long drive), whereupon our host turned us away stating that we were early and the property was not ready. We therefore needed to occupy ourselves for an hour - not great after a long and tiring drive. Whilst adequate the breakfast was quite basic (homemade jams were however very tasty).

First impression - the house is beautiful and soooo French! The gateway into the property's parking area is a bit narrow and the parking area, particularly as we had a trailer, was very tight. The room was characterful, beautifully furnished and very authentic, but with modern touches. We loved our stay here and although we had trouble finding a bus stop into town, we're so glad we persevered, as Tours was buzzing with lots of bars and restaurants.
