Never got to stay there

The fact they canceled my booking on the day I was due to arrive. They claimed it was Booking.com's fault

Inside a building of character with an assortment of public rooms in wood.. thatched cottages nearby. Clear chalk stream in village.

No breakfast on site. Village cafe is nice with views over cricket ground to wooded hills but each source gives different opening hours.

- Great decor, nice and cosy - Very clean - Friendly staff - Good amenities

- Local church rings on the hour, every hour, day and night. This disturbed our sleep a bit. - Close to road, so noise may be a problem when leaving windows open.

The bedrooms are really well decorated with comfortable beds and trendy en-suites. Lovely village and quiet night

Nothing, we loved our stay

Room was modern and comfortable

No soundproofing we could hear the voices of the people in the room next door. Also kept awake on Saturday night until almost 1am due to a crowd drinking and being loud in the pub garden outside our room.

Lovely location in a pretty village, and very quiet. Well presented and friendly staff. comfortable bed and good shower. We have been before and will go again. the place has had a facelift since we were last there and looks even nicer. Lovely outside space.

It would have been nice to have a dressing table or desk and seat with a light - there was room for one. If I am nit picking, there was extremely low water pressure in the bathroom sink cold taps - took ages to fill a small kettle. (shower was fine however).

We had a lovely stay at The George. We have relatives and friends who live nearby and this is the nicest accommodation we have booked in the area. St Mary Bourne is a lovely village. The building is grade II listed I believe, and has been beautifully and sympathetically decorated. The room we stayed in was lovely - very comfortable and spotless with a window you could actually open enough to let in some fresh air !!! The weather was warm for our stay but the room was cool and we slept well. Coffee and tea making facilities with enough sachets of milk were very welcome. We didn't have breakfast but we booked to have our evening meal at the inn. The menu wasn't extensive but that was of no consequence - the food was very nice and reasonably priced. Everything about the place right down to the planters in the beer garden area was tastefully presented. We will definitely book again. Thankyou !

Comfortable bed. Didn’t use bar or restaurant

Main thing is you can’t open the windows so are reliant on a fan. I highly recommend unblocking the windows so guests can get a flow of air. It didn’t matter for us but note there is no breakfast - price should probably be a bit lower due to that.
