Finest Retreats - Otters Holt

Die Lage war super und das Häuschen sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Heizung hat hervorragend funktioniert und die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Alles war sehr sauber.

Very convenient location in the town. Great that it has a parking space.

The net curtains made it look unappealing from the outside. Maybe need replacing with something brighter. The uneven floor upstairs was weird!

Decor a little tired but clean and tidy with a homely feel!

Right in the heart of Ambleside, with easy access to everything. Couldn’t have wished for more.

Cosy and clean. Location was excellent. In the middle of town but down a small road so no noise.

The floor on the second floor is slanted which was strange but didn’t cause a problem.

Central location on a quiet street with very little passing traffic and very few pedestrians. We were glad of the spare bedroom when either of us was restless. The lounge-diner was light and spacious. There was an iron although this wasn’t listed.

The two front door keys in the key safe were not identical. One or both were a poor copy of the original. I can’t remember a single instance of the keys working without half a minute of jiggling before the lock suddenly yielded. Other reviews have mentioned the same problem. The helpful contact assured us that the issue will be addressed. Future reviews will reveal progress on this. There was unnecessary uncertainty about bin collections - the relevant section of the South Lakeland District Council makes this clear. A print-off of the relevant page would have been convenient. Some of the cords for the blinds / drop-down curtains were frayed and appeared on the verge of breaking. Again, we were assured this was in hand.

Great location in Ambleside. A quaint local cottage that was clean and comfortable. We had a four member group and we all enjoyed our stay.

The entry door was difficult to unlock, but was manageable after working out the correct method. However the key box was also difficult to open and close, making getting in the cottage the first and last time very frustrating.
