Opal Villas standard apartment 2

Locality excellent, near Hoe and Barbican. Quiet

Checkin terrible - stuck outside for an hour in freezing temperatures until a resident let us in. Then another 45 minutes in a cold reception. Sent ETA as requested sat am as going to be after 1700 hours. No response from them neither did they inform the accommodation. A resident let us in and eventually got a key to reception office where master keys kept. We had no room number just “standard apartment 3 8th floor. He let us into room 80 (floor number 8) 3. We cooked our meal. I found messages from a manager from a previous stay Who came over to Opal Villas. Allowed us to finish meal but informed we were in wrong room - 803 seemed ready for new guests but only had 1 mug, I fork. Moved to room 8 - no proper heating, just a small convector, duvet very summer weight, we borrowed a 2nd from another room. Night temperatures were below zero. Toaster fused the electrics. Still had only 1 fork and only 1 small plate. Shower dials too high for me to reach. A main light above bed no working bulb. No TV BBC channels worked - poor reception.

Location was great, easy access to anywhere in town,quite central.Person who has gave us the key Dave was very helpful,friendly and guided us where to go and do.

Draft was coming from window,heating was electric so we didn't have hot water running from tab to wash our hands,face.

Good location all the facilities of home quite clean

I overslept on checkout day it was that comfortable I tried to book extra night and it was just overbooked the whole place no wonder why

Good location value for your money friendly staff

The location was perfect for city centre, the Hoe and Barbican. The main room with bed and kitchenette, table and chairs was nest and clean. Television included Netflix and was easy.

The bathroom was very small and not so clean, shower so close to the sink,that it was barely accessible.

Location close to Plymouth Ho and secure car park

Room small and facilities very basic

These are basic rooms in a clean and tidy building. The location is great and you are in walking distance of local tourist attractions, which is why i chose it as a basecamp and wasnt in the room very much. You get what you pay for as a budget stay.

Very noisy at night, lots of street noise as you are on one of the main roads and I can only assume Plymouth boy racers use this route as a racing lap. Also a lot of "people" noise as there is an area nearby where skateboarders meet. Walls are quite thin (much like the bedding)
