"Cosy and spacious room at the heart of Cagliari"

9.0

Cagliari is a great place and "Casa del Bottone" is ideal to explore it. It is in a lively part of town, and yet at a quiet spot. And its walking distance from the train station. The owners (who also have the shop on the ground floor) are always helpful and nearby. And -most important in our opinion- were present at our arrival to welcome us. Due to our flight schedules we arrived early and departed late, and they agreed to it. This is a historical building, and its age shows on the outside, but it must have been renovated recently as the room itself is very modern. It is clean and spacious, including a large bathroom with a large shower and all the amenities. The fridge contained a couple of bottles of water and of local beer to welcome us, and the bookcase a leaflet on Cagliari, maps, and nice books (in Italian) on Sardinia and its history. The smart TV swivels so you can see it both from the bed and the couch. There is no usable space in the balcony, but you can enjoy sitting at the dining table next to the large windows. WiFi was stable and good, with no problems with the Netflix.

There is no kitchen in the room. A kettle and a microwave oven are available, to make tea and warm something up. But there is no sink. The owners wisely provide paper cups and plates; as well as proper forks, knives, spoons and a bottle opener. Of course, with such a choice of restaurants in the area, I doubt that you would actually cook anything during your stay. We certainly didn't!
