The city center location and free private parking

Normally, we don’t leave reviews, but we felt this experience needed to be shared. We booked this apartment in Reykjavik that seemed ideal, with a great location and modern amenities. However, when we arrived, we encountered numerous issues. The hot water was not functioning, the shower drain was clogged with hair and dirt, the bathroom door frame was rotten, the bathroom mirror was cracked and quite dangerous, and the remote control lacked batteries. We tried running the water in hopes of getting it warm, but this only led to the bathroom nearly flooding due to the blocked drain. We ended up having to remove the hair and debris from the drain ourselves, as the owner provided no assistance. We immediately contacted the owner, who then informed us that he was already aware of the hot water issue due to pending maintenance—but had failed to inform us before our arrival. Consequently, we spent our stay without hot water, and none of the issues were resolved during our time there. The owner offered us a discount for a future stay, as we were planning to return to the city shortly after. However, he later informed us (at the last minute) that the apartment was already booked by someone else. This experience left us disappointed, not just because of the condition of the apartment, but especially because of the lack of transparency and professionalism on the owner’s part. We would not recommend this property.

Really spacey inside. Location perfect for walking city. Parking right behind apartment. Double beds really soft. Very clean and great under heating in bathrooms. Communication with owners really good; quick response. Allowed us to park in car park area 3 hours before checkin. Really appreciated this.

Need lamps; only main lights in all rooms. A bit bright for falling asleep. You parked behind property via tunnel: we had a SUV and it was very tight. Difficult if you are just getting to know your new hire car. Need to number door to apartment- we guessed that this was our flat. No lift and needed to carry heavy bags up stairs but good neighbour helped.
