Lundur Apartments - Down Town

Really great stay with my husband and four teenage sons in Reykjavik! The location was amazing! Shops and restaurants right outside the door, and an easy walk all over town. We hit the church, the harbor, the Harpa, and the rainbow road all on foot! The email from the property regarding the keys was easy to understand. The hosts were responsive when we needed something. Heated floors were nice. Laundry was great to have! The apartment was modern and lovely with great furnishings. The coffee maker was a perfect touch! No A/C but we opened the windows and that cooled us off plenty. There was no lift to the second floor that we could find but it was a fairly easy walk upstairs. Very clean and comfortable stay! GREAT beds and again... the location was amazing!

Parking was tricky to find and use. We wound up parking a few streets away, figuring out how to get into the parking lot, and then moving the car. (Probably because as Americans we weren't clear on what all the road signs meant.) Its not really 2 full bathrooms--- only 1.5 so all 6 had to share a shower, but we made it work.

This is a beautiful and spacious apartment located in a very nice part of town. It’s close to everything. It’s recently remodeled and very clean. Perfect for a family of 4-6 people. It has a full kitchen and washer/dryer. You have a parking spot to park your car too. The owner was very attentive to our requests. There is bathroom and a guest bathroom. Very close to great restaurants such as Cafe Loki or Old Iceland. There is a restaurant across from the apartment that serves breakfast and lunch. They have fresh bread and pastries. Every morning we bought fresh bread from them. So good!

With most hotels you can drop off your luggage until the time you can check in but because this was an apartment, we couldn’t drop off our luggage and we got to Iceland around 9:00 am. Luckily, we had a car so we left our luggage inside the car until the time we could check in. Just be aware that the hot water in the bathrooms and the kitchen has a sulfur smell but it’s safe to drink or shower with. I wish the apartment had a small safe.

Good location, clean, well appointed, heated floors in the bathroom were a huge plus. Great living room. Comfortable beds. I would definitely rent again.

The shower is all over the place and ruining their incredibly nice bathroom, also no place to put things in the shower.

Loved being right downtown and enjoying all of the sights. Loved the amenities complete with full kitchen, washer and dryer. Loved the look of the place and how large it was. So many great things about the place.

The smell was damp and musty in the place. This was hard to understand with it being so updated and modern. It just had a funk to it that was low level annoyance. It was noisy from the street at night, but hard to complain given the location we chose. Thats more on us. Just letting people know it is not quiet at night.

The owner agreed we could park the car prior to check in. When we got there somewhere was in the space and did not move until that evening. On entry to the flat it smelt very strongly of the previous nights dinner which was off putting. The bathroom door where the shower was would not shut. It had water damage. Contacted the owner about both the above and got a late reply to say door would be sorted however it wasn’t and with 2 families staying with the bathroom leading off the lounge it was not great
