Cosy Rowan woodland lodge no3

Cottage was very cosy and clean. Scenery was breathtaking.

The cottages were a little far out from the local village.

I really enjoyed my stay, but mostly because I can make myself comftable anywhere and the owners were so nice, helpful and the bed was really comftable. But. The pictures suggested that this lodge is a single cabin on the property. In fact it is one of four apartments of a smaller cabin complex. You have to park your car directly at your front door, which give you a "nice" view from the little terrace at the entrance of course. The walls are very thin (I heard my neighbours snore) and you are very, very close to them because of the small Site of the complex. It wasn't the silent stay I imagined. The walls are made of wood and were very dusty which gave me a hard time as an allergic. I am pragmatic, I cleaned them myself after the first night.

The location for us was great. Partner found the bed really comfy and spacious lol I loved the wooden fence for the patio to stop the dogs getting out. We were then able to leave door open.

It wasn't sign posted well from the aberfeldy side. We passed the entrance as there were no sign posts. When booking we didn't see anything saying the property was attached to another. Property then had no sound proving and I heard every word of both neighbours for two days. I didn't get the quiet relaxing days there that I had planned for. Front patio lights were not working. Maybe a sightly bigger settee needed as there really wasn't alot of room for 2 people to get comfy on it

The scenery from the front room was spectacular!! We even had Barn Swallows nesting above our front door which just added to our stay.

Spectacular views. Clean modern shower room. Big bed, plenty of storage space.

Needs updating in places, couch wasn't very comfortable. No soundproofing between cabins so you can hear every noise and conversation from either side. Mattress too soft for my preference.

Good location for exploring Killin and surrounding areas. Nice walks nearby for dogs.

The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything your neighbours were saying and watching on TV. Rowan lodges are actually terraced chalets not traditional lodges and we felt the images shown are not a true reflection of what it is like to stay there. We felt there was limited privacy, there wasn't really a private area to relax. On an evening we could not hear our TV due to the sound of both neighbours TV channels. It was really unpleasant. Extra costs are given on arrival, £30 for dog, £14 for electricity and £5 for towels which aren't accurately reflected on booking.coms advert. This was meant to be a relaxing trip for us and we actually ended up departing a day early as we couldn't deal with another evening of listening to someone else's TV and voices. The neighbours were not at fault at all, they should be allowed to talk and watch TV on holiday, the paper thin wooden walls however need urgently looked at. The accomodation is very basic for the price.
