"Loved my stay here - a great countryside escape"

10.0

We were really happy with our stay!!! I work in luxury hospitality and I have to say that the hosts did a fantastic job and everything was clearly though out from the guest experience point of view. - easy to communicate with Paula the host by text or email. She and her husband live nearby at the very end of the field. (The hut is located in one corner of a grassy field.) - upon arrival they gave us a complimentary breakfast basket of bacon, bread, butter and eggs. - the hut was much bigger than expected and was tastefully decorated - the bed was a large size double and very comfortable to sleep on. There was also a little hammock-style bed above, which we ended up using for luggage storage. - the kitchenette had everything you would need, including a mini oven, mini fridge and 2 stove top rings. - we had instant hot water and the shower had enough space to get washed - wasnt cramped at all. - there was a swimming pool in the field that guests could use - you can buy a bundle of wood for the firepit/BBQ for £8

Not much to comment on here as everything was great!! I would probably point out that there is one more hut on site which is about 20 metres away. Could probably benefit from a bit of planting to screen it and make the stay a bit more private / exclusive for each hut's guests, thereby reinforcing the 'escape to the country' experience.

"Cosy accommodation, great hosts"

10.0

Everything, the hut is cosy and has everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay. Great to have a fire outside in the evening. Location great for visiting New Forest and Longleat. The pool and goats were an extra treat that the kids loved. All round great stay.

"A wonderful rural stay"

10.0

This may be the cleanest place I have ever stayed in. The kitchen area was spotless and all cooking equipment was clean and in good condition. All equipment and appliances in the property were of high quality and we had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and peaceful and the hosts were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

Everything was perfect

"Lovely relaxing weekend in beautiful surrounding. Lovely hosts too !!"

10.0

Very cute and cosy Shepherd's hut. Lovely breakfast basket which consists of bread, butter, bacon, eggs and milk. Loved the extra bits - washing up liquid, shower gel/ shampoo, tea/coffee/sugar, foil/clingfilm etc. Bedding/towels provided. Enjoyed a swim in the pool at the end of the day next to the goats. Also, took advantage of the Indian fire bowl and had a lovely BBQ.

"Perfectly placed, relaxing, peaceful and fun stay"

9.0

We booked as a base for a weekend of sightseeing and festivals. Andy greeted us along with two goats, some chickens and lots of rabbits! The hut is very well equipped and we really only needed to bring ourselves and food/drink. The linen and towels are of good quality matched by the quality of the fixtures and fittings which are wonderful. The welcome basket including bacon, eggs, bread, milk & butter was great along with a local paper and a chat with Andy, who advised of what was on locally during our stay and showed us how to use the appliances and shower. My husband was concerned about the shower water pressure but he needn’t have been, although compact, it was good. The location was quiet, peaceful, relaxing and the pool an added bonus for three hot and bothered travellers. There’s a Fishery with a lovely cafe within a 5-10 minute walk as well as being within a 10 minute drive of a small town with amenities and Wincanton which looks like a lovely place to enjoy a meal or stroll. We were at Stonehenge within 40 minutes and Bristol in just over an hour. There’s no tv or WiFi which we enjoyed but the phone and 3/4G signal are good unless sat at the bench seating (we were in the left hand hut as you approach) Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and whilst on residential property, it didn’t feel like it at all as there was plenty of space and no privacy issues. Perfectly tucked away within easy reach of anything you might need or want to do, we’d happily return and recommend. Thank you!

We travelled with our 15 year old who wasn’t comfortable in the bunk and with hindsight, we should’ve considered this prior to booking as he’s now man sized! It’s lovely to have windows and doors open on a warm evening but a fly screen/curtain may make this more enjoyable.
