Oreum Stay Myeongdong - Female Only

The owner was very kind and the accommodation is close to the train station and Myeongdong area. It is good value for money and a great option if you're staying in Seoul for a few days. The free laundry and kitchen amenities were very convenient, and the accommodation was clean and well maintained. The owner goes the extra mile to ensure you're informed about how to get there and how to make your stay as safe and comfortable as possible. While the room was small, it was a great budget friendly option located in the middle of Seoul.

The room is really, really small. It is as advertised, and is a great option if you're looking for a good deal and are only staying for a few days. I'm 172 cm, and the room was just comfortable enough, so if you're taller, I would suggest proceeding with caution. Additionally, the accommodation isn't handicapped or plus-size friendly. You can only take the stairs up to the accommodation, and the room itself is a bit of a tight squeeze. This is a budget stay, but if you're staying in Seoul for longer than three days, split your stay between this place and a more spacious hotel. The only other problem was that the bathroom would benefit from a mold treatment and a more thorough cleaning.

Super comfortable and cozy! You feel safe, and have privacy that is very important. You have everything you need for your stay: private bathroom, comfortable bad, enough space for you and luggage, a table and chair for work, refrigerator in the room. my room also has a window, so i like to woke up with natural light in my room

I like everything, have an advice to improve: The plug is not so easy to get 😅 the curtains not possible to put up. I also think it is better not to keep in the lobby all shoes, cause they take all space andd maybee provide a chair to seat and change shoes

Super happy with my stay at this female-only accomodation!! The small single room with private bathroom is clean and cozy. I had an everyday backpack and cabin-sized suitcase, and could fit everything in the room that is smartly laid out to optimise space. It's impressive how the hotel has managed to fit everything into such a tight space - including a rod to hang your clothes, full-sized hair dryer, writing desk and even your own mini-fridge which is super convenient to have. Air-conditioning in the room can be manually adjusted through a vent. Bed is firm. Kimchi, instant ramen and fresh cooked rice is generously provided for guests (free) at all hours - this was a nice touch to be able to have a simple meal by myself in the room some nights. Great hot water and water pressure for the shower. The host is an incredibly kind and generous lady. She helped carry my small luggage up the short flight of stairs as I am still recovering from surgery. The street that the hotel is on is quiet, safe and clean with several cafes, many local Korean restaurants, and a mini-market. The building that the hotel is located in is very traditional and old, but the hotel itself is modern in interior, amenities and security (digital locks). Excellent location - so close to Hoehyeon station, and the Namsam Tunnel 3 bus stop with many buses, also an easy walk to Myeongdong. 

Not anything to dislike but maybe a note that 'western' tourists staying here may find certain things odd, such as the smaller towel sizes compared to bath towels, the "wet shower" concept or even how firm the bed is relative to western standards, but I believe all these should not be uncommon for Asian travelers.

The location of this stay is excellent - the owner is very kind. I would recommend this as a potential location for any other girls who are looking to do some solo travel and want to stay in Seoul. The rooms themselves are quite small, so do be aware of this (I was almost too tall for the bed!) but includes everything you need for a short stay. Absolutely a safe and comfortable space for women, as this is a female-only accommodation, which I was very happy with. I have also noticed many reviews for places in Seoul talk about the bathrooms and towel sizes, so as a PSA for fellow Americans/anyone else who may not be aware: it is common in South Korea for the shower to be combined with the bathroom (e.g., all in one room) and for small towels approximately the size of American hand towels to be used, and this is not specific to any single hotel. I did not find this to be an issue, but if you want a large bath towel, I would suggest packing your own! :)

There was a window from the room into the hall that was unfortunately not covered, so I did have light from the hallway shining into my room during the night.

Super convenient location. Felt very safe. Really liked having my own bathroom. The free rice, kimchi & ramen was an excellent bonus. The kitchen has filtered water. Free washing and drying also. Air con is easy to control. The lady who runs it was super friendly & helpful too.

If you're super tall this accommodation may not be big enough for you. I'm 175cm and just fit into the bed. If you're any taller the bed / length of the room may be a problem. The walls are thin so you need to be mindful of your neighbours. There's no communal lounge, so it's not a social accommodation style place if that's what you're looking for. And a little warning that the elevator doesn't go to the 2nd floor. So you will need to take the stairs. My only issue really was with booking.com I couldn't read the full messages from the owner who gave great detailed instructions on how to get to the accommodation.

It has a great location, the amenities are really helpful and it’s very comfy.

Owner was super nice, and offered free kimchi, ramen and rice. The room is quite small, but as a place just to sleep it's perfect

There are no common area and the general rule is to be quiet. It's not a very social hostel, so if you are looking to find somebody to explore with or talk to, it's not the ideal place.
