"It was a stop off on a journey so served a purpose"

4.0

Good location we ate dinner in the restaurant which was very enjoyable.

Very tired and dated room. Bed was dirty chair broken and everything looked really grotty. No parking available. No one around to check us in or out. Very disorganised. It was not value for money in my opinion.

"Lovely old pub with good evening meal."

7.0

Good food for the evening meal. Friendly welcome. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well appointed with a superb shower. Lovely old pub with an interesting history. Conveniently located but would only recommend for one or two nights.

Sadly the breakfast didn't meet expectations. I sympathise because they are clearly trying to save money. They don't have enough staff in my opinion and the ingredients at breakfast were poor quality. I would have expected bacon and sausages from the local butcher in rural Somerset. Entrance to the car park and the car park itself is extremely tight. Thankfully we were in a Fiat 500 but there was only one space left. Bridgewater is looking quite rundown these days certainly compared to nearby Taunton. The pub is in the centre of the town so was quite noisy.
