Hide Away Bungalows in Ben Tre City

Cute little Bungalow. Borrowed bicycles to explore which was great! And the food served was very good!

Nothing.

The place is a paradise and the receptionists are super sweet.

The owner is really bad… we stayed there 4 days paying, at the end 100$ to the receptionist as he was a really good person. Apparently, there was a mistake and we should have paid $105. the owner reported us to customer service as if we were thieves. This hours after we left. to my request for explanations, the owner responded rudely telling me that we would have to pay the missing $5 through a payment via VPBank QR code (which we have no idea how to use). Upon my request to use another method, I was treated with contempt.

The setting was calm and pretty. It was away from the city and the bungalows were nice. The dogs were lovely too. There were free bikes to use.

The staff didn't seem to speak any English, which would be fine if there was more information given at check in; I had to use the translate app to ask basic questions like if I could order food (the food seems to come from somewhere else and has to be pre ordered, despite the fact that they provide a food menu; though this was never explained). Overall I felt a bit lost and awkward, given that the place is quite remote and not in an area with many tourists. Also - small thing, but the room only had a bright strip light and the lamp wasn't useable as it only had a USB plug.

The accommodation has a very unique design, we loved the garden view and that the place is located in a bit of a remote area. Free bike rental was very convenient. Good strong Wifi. And they have a seriously good vegan noodle soup as a breakfast option.

The whole place seems to need a little love and extra care. There were a couple things that could be fixed easily: Our room, in particular the bathroom, wasn't very clean and we were given towels which had stains on them. The fridge was dirty as well. The mattresses were completely worn, we could feel every single spring. Also, there was animal poop on the window and on our sheets (from the many geckos) and not a single chair to sit on. The overflowing bin wasn't emptied during our stay.

The huts and homestay overall was really nice and the staff, especially the receptionist were lovely and beyond helpful- even drove us into town on her motorbike for free. Would highly recommend for a local, out-of-the-way place to go with confortable rooms that still feel like you’re very much hidden away in the jungle. Excellent stay, loved it.

On the middle of the jungle, the bungalows are very luminous and comfortable! The staff lends bikes for free to go to the city center.

The bathroom was very humid and full of lizards. Without the bikes, going to the city centre could be a bit difficult.

I don't know if you know the feeling when you're on your way from one place to the next and only have to make a stopover to meet the basic needs: eat, shower, chill a bit, sleep, a taxi at an unspeakably early time and especially someone who will help you through all of this even though you don't speak a word of Vietnamese. We found so much more in the Hideaway Bungalows: the best homemade pho I have ever eaten, very authentic, large huts with a beautiful outdoor bath area, a panorama window in the middle of the most beautiful jungle with jungle sounds, a host who even later in the evening helped with concerns (vegan breakfast or ordering a taxi early in the morning). And all this in a wonderfully rural area, where you get to know a lot of people and are still connected to the city 24/7. Together they guided me to the right bus station and it was only on the bus that I really realized how lucky I was to have found this place.

It really was a great hideaway and base for exploring Ben Tre. It is located on the quieter side of the river and way better than staying on the city side as it is quieter and has more of a village feel. The homestay provides free bikes and it was easy to get around on small side roads and explore the area. The city is a quick 10 min bike ride away shall you need anything more. The homestay itself is cute and homely, with a small shared living space that you can order dinner from and reach the friendly receptionists for any questions. The rooms are located just behind a little stream at the back and provides total quietness. Each room is uniquely themed so be sure to look at all of them! We stayed at the triangle shaped room and loved our view. Internet is great and we enjoyed our daily coconuts that came from right from the tree beside us. It was such a lovely place to get away from HCMC for a few days. It is a great value for price!

The only inconvenience (that can be easily rectified) is that as it is in the outskirt of Ben Tre you cannot reach there by public transport from HCMC. The small taxi rides are absolutely worth being in the quietness and lush green surroundings!
