Casa Loren in the heart of Sorrento

CASA LOREN – Date of stay 15-23/05/2026 This has to be the worst place we have ever stayed in. The owners/managers were nice enough but clearly don’t have any interest in maintaining their property. Bottom line: the place is in decay. On arrival we found the interphone hanging off the wall (this was repaired by the owner during our stay) and soon discovered many other faults. • The refrigerator is falling apart and is small and badly equipped. • There is no oven, all that is provided is a kettle, a gas hob, an old coffee percolator, a microwave and a small table; all very basic. • The location is great but none of the windows close properly which exacerbates the noise coming from the street outside making it impossible to sleep until well past midnight and you are woken at 6.30 in the morning by the clatter of the local shops and cafés getting ready for the day. • The bedroom is ok except the only way to watch tv is in bed! A basic divan serves as seating and a “bed” for a third guest. Plenty of cupboard space but the drawer units in a pretty bad state of repair. The air conditioning unit does not work properly; it makes a lot of noise but not much cool air. • Now for the bathroom: there is black mould everywhere which has simply been painted over (badly) or hidden in the shower unit and the cupboards, the washbasin does not hold water despite an attempted repair by the owners during our stay, the wc does not really flush properly and it takes forever to refill the cistern. The bathroom door is rotting from the bottom. To top it all the toilet brush is absolutely filthy. How difficult can it be to either clean the brush or provide a new one? If you’re staying for more than a few days you also need to take your own toilet paper as only one roll is supplied!! • I really recommend that you look elsewhere unless you don’t mind cacophonous noise from the street as well as spartan and unsanitary living conditions.

We had a lovely stay at this sweet little apartment right in the heart of Sorrento. The location was fantastic—everything we wanted to see and do was just a short walk away, which made exploring the town incredibly easy and enjoyable. The apartment itself is a little dated, but it’s very neat and tidy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It felt welcoming and homely, and we quickly settled in. The standout feature was definitely the balcony. It was fantastic, and we found ourselves using it every single day—perfect for relaxing with afternoon drinks or enjoying a casual dinner while soaking up the atmosphere. It overlooks a lively and charming streetscape, which added so much character to our stay. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay in Sorrento. We’d happily return.
