City Homestays-Coventry City and University I Free Parking I Wi-Fi

This was a basic room on the 1st floor of a house converted to offer affordable rooms for travellers. The 1st and 2nd floor each have a good sized room with a comfortable double bed in the room I stayed in. A bathroom on the ground and 2nd floor with a toilet, shower and sink in each (on the day of my stay there was some hair in the shower ... but beyond that the bathroom was clean, and the room had fresh sheets and towels available. The door to the property is accessed by a code (emailed on the day), the room key left in the room and the wifi easy to access. I was more than happy for the price I paid.

I would have liked access to a kettle and cups during the stay, even if they where just in the kitchen area. And maybe a TV in the room would be nice too.

If you want cheap and simple, this is the best place. It does depend on what the reason for your visit is. Don't expect luxury, but you have a basic place to spend your night. Location was a bit dusty on some spots, but acceptably clean where it matters. Bus stop at the end of the street. If I were to return for the Expo next year, I would consider returning.

Like all other reviews state, you're staying in Hillfields area, sketchy and should not be walking around in at night. Even visibly at the corner of the street you see some people taking substances(around 7-8 PM). But that said, if you just ignore them and they leave you be. The bathroom was (surprisingly) clean, but did have a smell, like clay. One of the other tenants left his dirty underwear on the towel rack, took them away and out them back again next day. Ofcourse proprietor can't help it. I didn't see anybody else as I just went in and out of my room.

The noise went on all night, walls as thin as paper, addressed this with the host, nothing was remedied. Room was adequate in fairness but mattress was so uncomfortable.
