"Loved it, would stay again!"

10.0

The character of the property, the little goodies left for us and the dog. Plus flexibility to add a late check out at last minute.

Loved everything about the property. The only thing that I can think of is the steps down to the property as I struggle with mobility, but we managed it.

The location is perfect, pets allowed & stunning little cottage that we have stayed at before.

The heating wasn't working, so cold cottage with no hot water. No answer from contact number, so email sent. Luckily Internet was working so we YouTube & got the boiler working. Would have been a cold night in Yorkshire by the sea if we hadn't been able to do it ourselves

How nice the building itself was and attractive to the eye on the inside and out I've spotted the cottages a few times on my visits to whitby but l didn't realise that you could stay in them so I was very pleased about that 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Having a cold shower, l realised that you have to put the central heating on to have a hot shower. Maybe the heating system should be updated, and an electric shower installed 🤔

"Despite the above we had a good holiday"

7.0

The property had been very nicely renovated and the decor was pleasant and with a relaxing feel to it. It was clean and everything we needed was there. The location was good as well; very near to the sea, shops, restaurants etc.

It was very, very small! My sister and I managed, but walking sideways to get round things was a key skill that we had to acquire very quickly. The cooker hob didn’t work either or at least we couldn’t get it to work even following the instruction book. Access to the property is of course fraught with difficulties, which we fully understood when we booked our holiday, but not being able to get in when we first arrived was something that we hadn’t banked on. The key simply would not open the door! We rang the emergency number for help but it went to answerphone. We kept trying with the key but to no avail, so we rang the emergency number again. It went to answerphone again. In the end, as the rain came down and as we were getting increasingly perplexed as to what to do, we asked a passing stranger for help. He managed to open the door for us and we got in. We worked out that the door needs to be pulled too very sharply in order for the key to work properly. I would suggest, if I may, that some attention needs to be given to the door and the emergency phone line needs to be properly staffed.

"Lovely cottage in a great location."

9.0

Lovely cosy accommodation, very comfortable bed. Close to waterfront, shops, bars and cafes.

Not really a negative - but need to be aware of low beams into bedroom and bathroom, ok for me at 5’5”, but partner had to ‘duck down’ (as cottage name implies) when entering bedroom and bathroom.

"Cottage was well equipped and in a good location"

8.0

Location, clean and tidy.

It was damp and lacked ventilation, plus although advertised as low beams some the living room/ kitchen where dangerously low ( particularly the one above the cooker. )
