Batney Farm Cottage, Meshaw, South Molton

A lovely cottage in a tranquil location with very comfy beds and quality furnishings in a pleasant countryside location.

The bedrooms were very well made up, and I loved the bedding. The space itself was spacious and set across 2 floors. We had 2 small dogs with us, and there was tons of outdoor space for them to safely enjoy. There was even a carton of milk and pack of cookies upon arrival, and the kitchen had essentials such as oil, salt, pepper, tea and coffee for us to enjoy our hello fresh dinner and morning cuppa respectively. I loved the bathroom - very hotel-like set-up, and they even had a non-slip mat, which made it easier to bathe our son in the tub.

It is a cottage, so it heats slowly and we were cold for a long while into the first night. I recommend getting there at a reasonable time to allow the hosts to go through heating setup with you, should you visit in the colder months. I also recommend bringing wellies if you wish to walk your dog across the field, trainers won't do :-) I don't know what I was thinking not bringing a pair. Roads down to the cottage aren't great, especially if your car is set lower to the ground. Be sure to drive slowly, as it's more suited for SUVs or Pickup trucks. ...I think.

Only a couple of issues - the step at the front door was a fall hazard and could benefit from floor hazard marking. Also as this is advertised as dog friendly it would benefit from a secure garden area. Thx.
