Upscale Modern Townhouse at Balboa Park

Location, modern design, spacious, had own garage

The washing machine was very dirty and could not be used

We booked this for the location of the Rock and Roll marathon. It was perfect. We were able to walk to the start and finish line. Also walking distance to great restaurants. The property is directly under the flight path, but it didn’t bother any of us staying there.

The third floor doesn’t get much of the AC, so it was freezing on the ground floor, comfortable on the second floor (which is were we slept) and hot on the third.

The location is convenient for walking to Balboa Park, little Italy. The house is spacious, modern and clean with the garage.

We actually liked the planes going over the Townhouse. The location close to little Italy & downtown San Diego.

the townhouse is really nice, was centrally located to the places we wanted to visit.

when I booked the townhouse, I guess I assumed it was two levels and maybe a bedroom on the bottom floor. it was three levels and if you count the garage, I will say four. I had my 82-year-old mom, and it was tough on her with all the stairs. would be better suited for people without mobility issues. Had a few other issues such as a dirty mug in the microwave, no towels in the downstairs bathroom, laundry in the drier. Conflicting times to check out, conflicting garage and door codes. Lots of people walking by since it's across the street from the park and woke up at 1:30 am to someone screaming out in front, kind of scary.

Really liked the space and the full kitchen to cook in. Lots of towels, paper products, etc. Actually enjoyed the excitement of airplanes zooming overhead as the lowered for landing at the nearby airport. We adjusted to the noise well. The location was excellent for walking to Little Italy, downtown, Balboa Park and the Zoo, …and easy access to the highway for heading north to any of the beaches or Legoland, etc. Great spot. I also liked having the green space of Balboa Park right across the street to look at from the patio or even out the windows.

We did not realize it had 3 stories, so at first that was off-putting. However, after a few days, with two young children, we could see the advantage of having them sleeping on the top floor. We could watch tv or chat on the lower levels without disturbing them. Having a couple of rags available for cleaning without wasting paper towel would have been helpful.
