The food was really bad , they charged a lot for drinks and water . No music no lights . The pool gave my husband and really bad rash . It seems that they dont filter the water and add a lot of chemicals . The towels where all stained . The bed sheets where dirty with rat poop and yellow stains. And they charged so much for one night $240. It was not worth it

The property and location is incredible. Very secluded beach and lots of amazing places to walk on the coastline in both directions. Close to encuentro for those of you surfing very short drive or 15 minutes walk on the coast. Marc and the staff were amazing people and the other guests were also great. Very social environment. Breakfast and meals are great, bar on site as well as pools and activities. Another restaurant next-door to mix up food options as well. As a Canadian who is big into outdoors this was a very nature-style accomodation that felt like being in a treehouse. Opposed to most of DR which is concrete buildings ecolodge was all wood which gave it an amazing feel. While it has everything you need, Eco Lodge as so much more character than most of your typical "resorts".

OK.... first off the people were very nice and the beach in front is nice -

We had expectations based on pictures and reviews of a pretty nicely developed location with nice amenities...... we were VERY disappointed by what reality looked like. This place hasn't seen any investment in a LONG time. The rooms are basically shacks. No insulation - every tiny noise from the overhead room were not just heard, but magnified (like elephants walking around). Zero privacy because of that.......... Bed was clean but the shacks are very rough. Having many bees (yes bees) in the bathroom was a thrill...........especially when i got stung trying to take a shower. "Jacuzzi" (rough built w/dirty water) in front of room - unusable. Pool ancient. Pathways very rough / primitive / ugly. Breakfast was a joke. They barely had a cup of coffee on communal benches. Just horrible. As I said - nice people. If you are 18 probably fine. Also - pretty expensive. We stayed at Velero Beach Resort after we left and much MUCH nicer room, amenities, restaurant, pool, etc - for less $. Avoid unless your wife loves roughing it, u don't like to eat, and u don't care about privacy.

Beach , pool and vibe

The location was great right next to the beach.. the Dominican staff who did the cooking and cleaning were very nice.

The pictures are very misleading. We booked a three person family room, which the picture showed a large bungalow with many beds and two levels. when we arrived, we were taken to a very small bungalow with no windows and two small beds. it was not what the pictures looked like and what we thought we had booked. We had to ask and wait several times to find another room which we ended up getting a small room with one bed but at least it had windows . The manager who was a male on his computer, the whole time was unfriendly and unhelpful. He had the volunteers dealing with all the issues. He was also rude when i asked for a bottle opener wanted to charge me a five dollar card free to have a bottle of wine in our room. (for my friends birthday.) I was embarrassed that I brought her there, and that we were treated so unkind. I have never heard of a hotel or resort not letting you have a glass of wine in your room. I have only heard a cork fees for restaurants. I just think this place could have a lot of potential if it had proper management in place. I found the volunteers and dominican staff of this place to be very friendly, but the actual manager himself to be rude and unaccommodating. I will not be returning nor recommending this place to our friends or family.. just beware what you're booking. The pictures are deceiving.

I booked this place solely for the private beach. Once I got there, it was more beautiful in person. It feels like staying in a treehouse. I was worried there was no AC, but the proximity to the ocean keeps the room cool enough. I loved that you can hear the ocean at night. Food was simple but delicious. Loved being able to just walk down from my room and be right at the beach in a couple of minutes. After dinner I sat on the beach until about 10pm and I could have easily slept there all night!

The room itself was kind of dark even with the all the lights on. There was a mosquito net on top of the bed but there were some dead flies on it already. Should have been cleaned prior. Also, the "door" that leads to the porch area is made of wood so mosquitoes can still get through the gaps. Perhaps include some kind of screen to completely block them from flying through at night. Also, the only way to pay for the room is by zelle or bank transfer. Booking.com said they would charge me prior to arriving but they didn't. They don't take cards for the booking payment, which is inconvenient.
