Inn at Gough

Had to cancel 1st night because of bad cleaning and noise. Didn't answer my emails, phone calls.

Only good things about this Hotel are: - The location, easy to visit the city from here. Rather "Safe" area, if you ignore the people overdosing on the nearby sidewalk. - The common area is a very pretty & spacious room. I really enjoyed having my take-out dinner there. - Bathroom was clean.

- No on-site staff. Check-in is done through a video-call through a tablet at the entrance, with a remote staff in the Philippines. (Staff was very kind). But if you need anything, or recommendations about the area, there is no one. - The hotel doesn't have any kind of sound proofing. It feels like sleeping on the street itself, each passing car echoes into the room. A nightmare. - The hotel & the rooms smelled musty because of the carpet & tapestry. Very Old Smell... doesn't feel hygienic at all. - No Room AT ALL within the room to fully open a suitcase on the floor. - No Elevator, steep staircases (with suitcases, it's quite intense if you're not able-bodied.)

Location

Small room, I requested a place to store my suitcase for a few hours after checkout and was denied. Had to carry my suitcase to a business meeting, not ideal…

great for Hayes Valley. Very quiet . very clean

the airconditioning / ventilation in the room was a bit stuffy. I wish there were flat pillows - not just the fluffy ones.

Simple, clean, and comfortable. Good air conditioning, comfortable bed, big TV, clean bathroom. Interesting unmanned electronic remote check-in.

Great location. Very comfy bed. Easy access to extra necessities such as linen and soaps etc. very convenient

The credit card machine was not working and caused a little confusion. The person behind the offsite computer could not help or no how to help the situation. Also Netflix would not load and said no network connection. I called the help line and they could not help with the situation at all. She said she didn’t know how and the maintenance man would possibly be in the next day, however the situation was not resolved. There was not much to watch on tv. Also both lights inside did not work, assuming both lightbulbs were out or bad. Last thing was there was lots of mold or mildew in the shower, I ended up buying a bleach spray and spraying down the shower and washing the mold out of the grout.

The location was good. Nice park nearby. It was clean and had hot water and the AC was good! The lounge was pretty good would have been nicer if it had utensils

The bed was hard. The metal bedframe was a hazard. Not enough spots to hang towels after showers.

Loved the decor in the room and the tall ceilings, felt spacious although small which is expected for SF. Check in was easy, coming and going was easy. Great food, coffee with a few block radius. The neighborhood felt safe enough.

The room smelled musty and like urine.
