UBPOD- The First Capsule Hotel in Mongolia

Very clean and comfortable, the staff was very kind and helpful!

very warm, clean, and new! the shower got very warm (but water pressure not the best), airport taxi was arranged easily for $30 USD, there was breakfast available

small room for 2 people, can hear all the noise from the hallway (bad soundproofing), it’s on the 5th floor and the elevator only goes to 4 so it was a bit hard with two heavy suitcases

I loved the concept and the little touches. Staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Great amenities - cultural room, sauna.

There were a few mishaps but not fault of the property (water not working etc). I don’t care about that. The main reason I scored lower is that the capsule was cold and I caught a cold as a result. Maybe it’s a me issue because I didn’t figure out how to adjust it.

Honestly, we were looking forward to this stay and the amenities and great cost; however, it all turned out to be misinformation.

We did not have water one night, we never had hot water for our entire stay, we did not have air conditioning as we were told we would, the staff was not helpful and did not fix any of the problems, we had to wait to check out and almost missed our flight because they only accept cash payment (which was never specified) and we only had card, and there is not an elevator all the way to the accommodation.

A lot of the online reviews for many of the hotels in and around Ulaanbataar raised concerns about cleanliness, especially given how old some of the building/hotels were. This place felt new and was really clean. The owner was kind and made the process easy. We got the double bed capsule which was comfortable and eventually we upgraded to a private room with shower and toilet. This was fantastic.

Room though small but good enough for 2 persons. The staffs there really make the difference and make your stay so comfortable and feel so at ease with early bkf to getting the airport transfer

Room can be a bit bigger and the in room shower can have some hooks to hang our towels or clothes when we go shower

The place is modern, very well equipped, clean and the capsules themselves provide little of the privacy so common in a hostel. Breakfast is different every day. There is a modern kitchen, comfortable seating, and a nice touch is that you can walk around the whole area without shoes.

Unfortunately you have to pay in cash, that's the only thing that would be worth improving.
