The Cedars, Pullwood Bay

We couldn’t have asked for more….. a beautiful and spacious house in a stunning location, perfect for two families. The house had everything we needed. The location was amazing too. The children loved exploring the woods, playing football on the large grass area and jumping off the jetty into the lake. We were fortunate enough to have amazing weather throughout our stay. We didn’t want to leave and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely location with beautiful scenery. Nice and quiet but really close to drive into Ambleside. I would definitely consider returning in future.

Beautiful, high quality property with solid tasteful furnishings. It is also very well equipped and very warm and well insulated. The kitchen works well with top notch appliances with everything you could need. The bathrooms are well designed with good pressure hot showers. The surroundings are lovely with Ambleside and all its amenities within easy reach by car. We would definitely recommend this property.

The property is top quality, very comfortable with tasteful decoration but here are our observations: - 4 bathrooms are advertised but we only found only 3, all en suite..there is no downstairs bathroom or toilet servicing the 2 downstairs double bedrooms. (One locked door?)This was considerably inconvenient for some of us. Luckily we were only 6 people. - the floorboards are very squeaky upstairs - downstairs sofas had uncomfortable slippy seat cushions.. limited seating for everyone together - annoying fridge noise However apart from the bathroom situation and floor boards the other points are fairly minor and the accommodation otherwise perfect.

Good quiet location - lots of walks and cycle paths from house - easy 1 hr walk to Ambleside

Squeaky fridge,

This was a great find for a large family gathering. Rooms were really comfortable. The kitchen had all the mod cons, and there were plenty of cutlery, plates, cups, mugs, etc. The living room was great for playing board games and the dining table seated 10 easily. Which was great for us. There was plenty of open space for outdoor games, and Lake Windermere is within easy reach. We would really recommend the Cedars for any large, family group booking. The centre of Ambleside is a 10min drive or a 1.7mile walk so within easy reach. And then there is Wray Castle around the same distance in the opposite direction. Recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Some minor niggles but they were responded to quickly by the property owner/caretaker so nothing of note.
