The apartment was clean, and well equipped with everything you might need.

The privacy aspect was not something I was too happy with. I think if you know you have people over, you don't arrange your garden boy to be up and down and looking into the place. The owner was the same, when we were outside, she was too, and she was constantly outside. This wouldn't have been an issue if we were allowed to close all the blinds, but there are labels everywhere with what you are not allowed to do. Secondly, the page said that the pool would be available, but the pool was covered throughout our stay, and on the Saturday we thought it was being opened it was cleaned and closed again. You are also not sure what facilities you are allowed to use and which not as there is a book with rules with what you need to request first, but sadly the communication when you do request is not too great. We requested which braai we could use, I am still waiting for a response a day later. We ended up using what we thought was ok. This listing should state that it is not a private pool or private stay, as you share with the owners. Its really just uncomfortable. Our expectations were higher than the reality of our stay.

Close to Kelly's beach, just a 15-minute walk. Comfortable stay with friendly hosts. The accommodation is the owner's study which he converted into a two-bedroom garden flat. I liked staying on the property with other people about, made me feel safe. Their cat and dogs also visited us regularly, which felt very homy.

The basics could be improved, for example better quality cushions in the bedrooms, nicer towls and soap in the bathroom. However, these are small things, on the whole it was a lovely place to stay.

The house and rooms were in great condition, and the host was very courteous and accommodating. The location was quiet central and within walking distance of the main center. I definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to stay in Port Alfred.
