Casa Carmine - Taormina Centro

The location and cleanliness of property. Lella greeted us & gave us lots of recommendations and left local cola and fruit.

Great location next to Taormina’s most important street but not on it which is a plus since it is packed with tourists. The host is great they give recommendations and they even fixed the washing machine (was broken when we got there) in less than 24 hrs. The space is large enough to make it comfortable for 2 people.

Many stairs! Wasn’t a big issue but be ready since kitchen is in top floor and room on floor below then a double set of stairs to get there. Besides this everything was great.

Stairs are really small: for elderly people, people with really young children should be warned. Or someone with reduced mobility. For the rest of people, no problem at all

The property is in an amazing location. The rooms have been recently renovated.

The shower wasn’t the cleanest and we were only provided one bath towel and one small towel each for a 4-night stay. As it was me and my dad, we wanted to use the sofa bed in the second bedroom but there were no sheets so I used blankets. We did ask the host for spare sheets but we didn’t get a response. Given the location, it was very noisy during the night. Not a criticism but something for people to be wary of.

This property location was fantastic. So easy to reach sites and parking. Rooms were spotless and beds were comfortable. Water, coffee, dishwasher, washing machine, and a view of mount Etna to boot.

Because of being built into hills low ceilings in stairs are common. Did not bother us but someone a bit disabled might find it challenging

Location - excellent (just inside the gate to Corso Umberto) and only steps to the taxi plaza. Facilities - perfect 2 bedroom with a bath and a half. It is 3 flights of stairs though so be aware if you have mobility issues. Beds were comfortable, AC, kitchen, laundry. Host - 10 out of 10. Lille helped me with anything and everything. She set up taxis, called businesses/tourist agencies, she recommended restaurants, just an amazing person and I highly recommend this place because of her!

We didn’t have any complaints but if you’re sensitive to noise, it can be noisy in the evenings as it’s on a small plaza. I wore earplugs and all was fine.

Location to main drag in Taormina was excellent but with that, you expect some noise from the street. Apartment was clean and kitchen well equipt. Main bedroom was excellent, aircon worked well except in second bedroom. Laundry room was great. Very close to large multilevel carpark (2-300m approx) but carpark comes with costs.

You enter the apartment on street level, climb one set of stairs to small bedroom, another set of stairs to main bedroom then up another set of stairs to the kitchen, lounge. Stairs are narrow with several points where you can potentially hit your head. The second bedroom's ceiling is so low that I could not stand up straight. I am 178cm tall! We has 3 nights there and felt like I had crouched down most of the time trying to go up and down the stairs or move around my bedroom. There is a dog on the balcony next door that barks all day. Loud music and tourist chatter kept us awake until the small hours of the morning. Host was great but there should be an alternate way to collect the keys - maybe install a key box at the front door? After a long drive across Sicily, we arrived an hour early but had to wait an hour outside for the host to let us in. I'm partly to blame for this as we were earlier than anticipated but it's difficult to drive and text when you are travelling.

We had a wonderful time in Taormina. We had a wonderful welcome from Lella, who explained everything we needed to know and gave us plenty of tips. The location was fantastic, right in the center of the town and very close to the parking facility. Due to the Etna eruption we couldn't fly back, Lella kindly suggested we could stay there, which was very appreciated !
