The Captain's Lodge Looe

The location is incredibly lucrative (under 100m to Looe train station, with a pub on the corner) and has beautiful views of the East Looe River. The apartment itself was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds.

The apartment is well up the slope, requiring numerous flights of stairs, so factor that into your timings/mobility, especially if carrying heavy luggage. The toilet is separate from the bathroom and has no washbasin (i.e. can’t wash hands right after using the toilet). The coffee machine was missing a crucial attachment at the time of our stay, so was unable to make coffee (grateful that pods were provided though). The lounge could do with some blinds for privacy and light-blocking, but fortunately the hallway door between bedrooms and lounge can be closed.

The property was ill equipt. Lots of repairs were needed and the ceiling needed soundproofing as the feet of upstairs residents were very noisy. I'm sure you've had lots of complaints already. No microwave. Broken chairs. Loo seat. Shower in bad condition. A very old cracked wash basin. Filthy entrance hallway. We didn't like it. Won't book again. Should be refunded.

A clean and well fitted out apartment. Plenty of space for our family of four. Lovely views across the estuary.

Parking was a little scary - if staying longer would have taken up the offer of railway station parking.

The property was clean , fresh smelling . It was in a gorgeous location also, the perfect family getaway

Lovely views, great location for Looe town and beach.

The steep hill was not good for my car and tight parking space. Then a lot of steps with heavy luggage that we weren't expecting or prepared for.

Host was helpful with getting a part refund.

The apartment is very different than it looks on the pictures, parking is a nightmare, the room had black mould and the cleaner hadn’t even changed the bin,also the apartment is one of many flats, you enter through a filthy foyer and can hear every step and cough of the people above. If you are reading the reviews before booking and not after like i unfortunately did, pick somewhere else! (Note on the milk was not written by us, really shows the cleaners efforts!)
