"Liveable but uncomfortable"

1.0

Owner was a miserable man who made me feel like everything I asked him for was a chore. He had no effort holding back the disgust in his face and it made me feel really uncomfortable along with the sarcastic remarks he made to me multiple times

Property was nice. Owner was worst ive ever had

"An excellent choice for both room and evening meals"

David and Nicky were very welcoming. Room was clean, smart and fresh. Location was perfect for Stonehenge, Salisbury and the surrounding area. Meals, freshly cooked by David were delicious.

"Lovely little gem of a pub, open only after 4:00pm!"

9.0

David, the host was helpful and a very good chef. Lovely family feel. Nothing was too much trouble.

Communication about opening hours was vague on Booking.com. The pub appears to be closed down during the day, only opens at 4:00pm. There is no parking to wait for opening if you're early. It's on a connecting road which, while not super busy, does have speedy traffic, and the bend in the road makes crossing from the gated car park to the pub a challenge for slow-moving people. All is worthwhile with excellent bar and home cooked food. Thanks David!

"A surprise, of all surprises!!!!! One of my friends flew back from Portugal to be there that evening"

9.0

We were meeting friends. The Satff did a great job. We had a great dinner. However, I would not order the Fish and Chips again. My fish was a little crispy and seeing a rectangular shape on my plate was not the fish and chips I remebered from long ago.

I enjoyed every moment (other than the fish). This was the first time in nearly 62 years that i had seen the friends who came to have dinner. It was a memorable evening. A special thank-you to the chef and bartender. (I apologise I have forgotten his name.)

"A welcoming pub with fantastic food, friendly locals, a lovely dog named Belle, and plenty parking"

10.0

Fantastic food and a very welcoming innkeeper. We had the bangers and mash, which was lovely and very reasonably priced. The pub had a group of friendly locals and a lovely pub dog named Belle and it all felt very welcoming. There were plenty of parking spaces available too.

"Very clean and comfortable and friendly"

9.0

Single room same as last year, good shower lovely thick towels. Air condition tower, hairdryer,to everything I needed. Didn’t eat here this time but was provided with fresh milk. Coffee machine as well as kettle. Good location 2.5 miles from my family.

Not a problem but would have been nice to have a full length mirror.

"It was poor value at £129 per night."

5.0

We had two evening meals; both were well cooked and satisfactory.

The outside staircase to the set of three bedrooms was concrete. No proper handrail. May not be suitable for visitors with reduced mobility. Use of toilets in the bar: could only be accessed by getting a code from the bar after making a purchase. Continental breakfast only available if ordered the night before and taken in the room at extra charge. Our room had one small stall. Both hot tap and shower were barely off cold (I understand the boiler was not on). It was not possible to mention this in the morning as no-one was there. The room was only of modest size. The table top fridge was kept in the wardrobe, making access not very convenient. I did mention the above concerns on leaving Sunday morning.
