"Best value accomodation for Salisbury and Stonehenge."

9.0

The Bell Inn is perfect for short breaks to Salisbury and Stonehenge. It provides incredible value for money, is scrupuously clean, serves excellent value meals and a great pint of real ale. David and Nicky are the perfect hosts, they don't seek to crowd you but are happy to chat and their local knowledge is invaluable. My single room, though small, was very well equipped and the en suite was perfect! Extra tea bags were supplied on request as was fresh milk. I enjoyed the bar after a day of sight seeing and was left to eat in peace and enjoy my book, but whenever I approached the bar David was attentive and friendly. Fully recommend it placed as it is halfway between Salisbury and Stonehenge. Lovely beer garden, with play equipment and a river side meadow across the road belonging to the pub. David warns that the pub may close early (8.30pm) if not busy, but that suited me, I took my last pint up to my room, caught the news and was asleep on a mega comfortable bed set for a busy day ahead.

The car park is across a busy road, but easily negotiable for the nimble with due care. Not a great breakfast option but excellent farm shop cafe 2 minutes car drive away. Why not a 10? Noone believes a 10 rating and lack of a good onsite breakfast made it a 9.
