The Bell Inn

Some of the best pub food we’ve tasted. Landlord is ex-army catering. Clean rooms, a little small. No cooked breakfast but a cafe close by. Very hospitable host.

The property is very charming, just outside the centre. Super quiet. Very welcoming owners. We recommend dining there: everything is delicious. If you arrive early, enjoy a walk along the river: it's worth it at sunset

Such a special stay, very friendly host, great food at the pub and relaxed atmosphere. We were very comfortable.

The actual bedrooms are fine, but the pub is a bit odd. Feels like the place is closing down. Great location and as a base.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was clear a lot of thought had been put into our stay with detailed instructions and everything well laid out. We cycled in and appreciated the light breakfast option for £5 which was left in our fridge for the morning.

We were given a space to keep our bikes out of sight of the road and with CCTV but there was no ability to lock up our bikes. For a solo traveller concerned with security this may be an issue, but we did not mind for a 1 night stay.
