Location was great, facilities were great

Mattress too soft

The almost living room downstairs with a tv, tea, coffee etc. It’s close by to a lot of nice walks, the cafe next door is beautiful.

The cleanliness, this was resolved and we were compensated.

Fantastic location

Bed was way to soft and felt like a water bed, the room and especially the sofa smelt of dog. this should be deep cleaned on a regular basis. Noisy fridge or heating system throughout the night, if parked in the top car park it is a long walk up or down, especially with bags. Steps going up from the bottom would be a sensible addition.

Great location - coffee shop/restaurant next door, and walking distance to fish and chip shop in centre of village; well-located for local attractions and villages/towns such as Castleton and Bakewell. Our apartment was to rear of building, so very quiet and away from main long running alongside front of building. Friendly Reception on-site and clearly-identified recycling location. The apartment was small but very clean and comfortable.

Would have given higher overall rating than the 8 - pre-arrival administration of letting agent used by owner for this apartment was clunky: I had problems with payment authentication to make £150 damage deposit and the overall process not clear. I received an email to request the damage deposit (again) the night before our arrival, as well as a separate request for the additional payment for our pet dog. This led to me trying to contact the managing agent on the morning before travel to the apartment (to try to understand what action was still needed for the check-in details to be released to me) - I was unable to get through to the customer services team (phone cut me off), but the issue was finally resolved with support of Booking.com customer support. The whole experience was more time-consuming and stressful than it needed to be. The damage deposit refund came through just under a week after our stay, so no issue there.

Lovely building in scenic surroundings, smart modern room, quiet and warm with balcony. Very good shower,lots of hot water. Plenty of space in room and reception area which was an added bonus to sit in in the evening if wanted. Outdoor area with play area and covered bbq area and seating a lovely bonus. Great parking with lovely Cupola restaurant almost next door.

Sadly bed was too soft, bouncy and unsupportive for us. Needed a firm mattress so disappointingly was very sore from using it and had poor sleep as a result. Generally the place was very clean but bedside tables and lamps very dusty, crockery and cutlery needed washing before we could use it. Some marks, smears on photo frames, microwave, handles etc that needed a clean over. Surprised that such a lovely place had missed these finer essential details. No hooks for clothes in shower room.

Did not have breakfast , self catering

Bed needs a mattress protector or somethink under sheet. Cupboards , could not reach a cup etc et Equipment just enough, for self catering Bathroom no hooks for cloths or towels , shower great no where for shower gel etc in shower No brush to brush floor , just a small pan and brush. More like a travel lodge with out the maid service daily etc. all in all had a lovely stay but simple things would have improved our stay as we were there for 5 nights.
