"Incredible location, especially when it is all lit up at night"

the setting is incredible

having to give my passport information to absolutely everyone before we could get in. So it was always a waiting game to get into the accommodaions, all over Italy

"Breathtaking mountain village"

Castelmezzano is a mountain village (with a zip line for the hardy traveller) with astonishing views. Its history dates back to the Normans (and further) with plenty of evidence of their presence still able to be seen. Accomodation had everything a traveller might need with decor reminiscent of the 1960s. Dined at possibly the best pizzeria so far on our journey. Community life still apparent here as the piazza near the church fills in the evening for gossip and card playing.

Difficult to find as the accommodation has a number of addresses. Ours lacked a street number, but a kind neighbour helped us out. The bed was a little dated. Parking can be an issue as no visiting vehicles allowed into Castelmezzano.

View from the terrace is spectacular. Words cannot describe it. Well stocked kitchen, and centrally located to everything you would need. Unit was very clean.

Bed was okay, could be updated with a more comfortable one.

Great location with a beautiful view of the town and peaks. Clear communication for check-in. Tidy and host have us great recommendations for dinner as well.

My partner had a shower after me and didn’t have any hot water. The pillows apart from one were terrible and I’m not usually precious about pillows. If you’re driving it’s only about an 8 min walk from where you park, but a bit hilly with some steps so my recommendation would be to take an overnight bag and leave your suitcase in the car if you have a lot of stuff, that’s what we did. 2 big cases would have been challenging.
