Granny’s Hut

Nice hosts,shame about building site next door.

The hut was lovely -particularly appreciated the eco values & compost loo. Nice area, and lots of options for food and things to do locally. Had a very warm welcome from the hosts, and also in the nearby town which was really friendly too.

I couldn't get the microwave to work and ended up eating cold soup. I'm sure the host/s would have helped but they had gone out at that point.

They were absolutely lovely hosts, very kind and happy to help with any questions we had. The suggested some local walking routes and a great cafe in town. We got there late due to traffic so arrived at 1am but they had put on the lights, heating, and left hot water bottles in the bed for us! Such a cosy and comfy hut and I would completely recommend it to anyone. Great facilities as there was a toaster, microwave, kettle, plenty of plugs to charge phones etc, hot water, and the compost toilet next door was very clean. The local area is stunning. We went mountain biking at Ae forest which is very close and also went to see Mortom Castle, again close by. The sunset photo is from just up the road from Granny's Hut - such a lovely area! Thank you for a lovely stay!

There was nothing I didn't like 10/10 all round all I could say is that we missed a shower but this didn't deter us. Still one of the best overnight stays I have ever had.

The hut was cosy warm and well equipped. Zoe was wonderful leaving light on, radiator and even two hot water bottles in the bed for my late Arrival. The decor and bedding is delightful. and attractive. Bed very comfortable... Hope to be back sometime.

We enjoy the peacefulness of the location, with no main roads nearby, lots of wildlife, and country walks. It is close to Thornhill so you can visit this town.
