There was cold water to shower. The geyser was very bad. It hardly worked.
ZAOur stay at Acorn cottages was excellent. It felt like home away from home. We stayed in the Barn Owl. The cottage itself was fully equipped and comfortable. We loved the furniture, the stained glass windows and the farm charm. The electric blankets in the middle of winter were a winner! Wifi worked perfectly. Its location in Champagne Valley is perfect for going out during the day to nearby hiking trails, restaurants, farm stalls and many other activities available in the area to get the full Drakensberg experience. Our hosts were very welcoming and ensured our stay was nothing other than pleasurable. Both Skarlien and Deon have put their heart and soul into their farm. The gardens are beautifully maintained and a pleasure to walk around in, all while observing the breath taking winter views of the farm, its surrounds and mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed the animals; the donkey, geese and sheep. Our favourites were the dogs who crept into our hearts during our stay. They enjoyed going on walks with us around the property and eagerly greeted us upon arrival back at the farm each day. Getting a chance to experience the Drakensberg winter on an exquisite farm such as this made the entire holiday memorable. The farm is dotted with pecan trees, orange trees and lemon trees. We were thrilled to be gifted fresh farm milk, oranges and pecan nuts. We will definitely be returning to Acorn cottages. Thank you for a wonderful stay ❤
