Old Fisherman Nest in Old Town

Location on George Street was great; right in the heart of the Old Town and close to many of The Traditional Jack in the Green events. The bed was comfy and in general the facilities were good. The central heating is very efficient. I received clear instructions a day before my visit both by email and messaging through the Booking app how to gain entry and where the flat was located within the property, and how to connect to the internet and where the thermostat was located.

I thought I was renting a flat above a restaurant. Unfortunately I did not realise that it was a noisy bar venue with VERY loud music played until nearly 1am every night. The noise in the living room and bedroom was EXTREMELY loud, so loud that the floorboards rattled with the intensity of the noise. The music was played from 9am to 1am not allowing any opportunity for an afternoon siesta or early night. I left on Tuesday sleep deprived. Can the owners please warn potential renters of the noisy bar below. One of the seats in the living room needs the right arm-rest glued back together. I nearly trapped my finger between the loose armrest and the rest of the chair. Also one of the windows does not close fully so I had to stuff a spare pillow in the gap to prevent drafts. The venetian blinds could do with a wipe down. Although the flat is lovely I will not be renting there again.

The chairs in there are broken the sofa is extremely uncomfortable and too small and the flat its self is very small

A nice cosy apartment to stay for just two of us wanting a base. Location fantastic - so central and really easy to find. Steep stairs to the property, but to be expected for the style of the building. It’s on a loud street, and above a bar, but nothing we weren’t expecting - our host was accommodating and let us know everything in advance!

AVOID BOOKING THIS PROPERTY. It has a late license club literally below the apartment with a live DJ till late most evenings. I left on the second night. Between the noisy tenants upstairs and the music downstairs this property is atrocious. Avoid

Location is great in center of old town.

Furniture tired, and not so comfortable. Sofa bed not comfortable in lounge after a period of time to sot on. Desk and chair, passable but not good enough for proper work. Some kitchen utensils lacking, e.g. corkscrew.

Nothing. The stairs were dangerous even if you are young and fit. Was not mentioned anywhere about the bar downstairs with the loud booming music right under the bed. The whole place smelled light used fryer oil. Can't believe this place is allowed to function as it is.

The place was tiny and cramped and as for the thumping music coming through the floorboards from the bar downstairs until 1am on Friday Nd Saturday we had to move out it was unbearable so we had to book a hotel for our last 3 days so I would like my money back please as there was no mention of loud music underneath us at the weekend when we booked it !? The loudest bar in George street ! Not for staying in ever again ! Thankyou Ann Thomson
