Old Fisherman Nest in Old Town

Location was great and the flat was fine. Just too noisy until 12.30am each night.

Too noisy at night. We could hear the music and the bedroom was vibrating from the speaker in bar below.

The app was clean there was tea sugar ect supplied and toiletries. The location was good

The stairs was very dangerous. We had to get help to carry bags up, it's not suitable for older people. The noise was very loud with building next door and music at night.

Great location, easy check in, comfortable bed, some necessities in the kitchen which was nice. And the flat was incredibly well cleaned.

I left a day sooner than I was planning as the noise levels are quite literally insane. I was expecting some noise, as it is in a central location and other reviews mentioned it. You have music coming from the business below until 1am on some days, and that is so loud the bass will punch through your chest, the flat above you play their music loud enough so they can’t hear the music from the restaurant, and you get to enjoy two music sources at deafening levels. Then, during the day it was a building site, I couldn’t use the bathroom during the day as there were builders stood outside the window for what seemed like the whole day. And the noise from the builders was unacceptably loud. Couldn’t hear myself think, let alone do any work, the fact they say there is an area for working is laughable. This flat is perfect for the completely deaf, or for someone who doesn’t plan to be there, at all. And the seating is very uncomfortable, none of the seats in the flat are comfortable.

The heating was good and the location in George Street is central.

The overall appearance of the unit is shabby. While I was prepared to accept that there would be noise from the bar below, on the night with a DJ performing the noise was excessive. Covers on the lounge furniture is stained. The window blind cords were tangled and knotted. Those windows that did open had broken latches and were stiff. The owner visited in response to my complaint and did give us a partial refund after having a list of defects and shortcomings given to him. There are other properties in the vicinity that offer better quality accommodation at a similar price.

A great position I'm Hastings old town

Sadly I personally cannot recommend this accommodation. The photos made it look amazing but unfortunately the apartment & fittings were worn, dirty even. The sofa, chairs, cushions were absolutely filthy, numerous stains & the bedding smelt, especially the pillows as though someone had slept there & the bedding hadn't been changed. I had to walk into town to buy a quilt, pillows, bedding & a sheet to place over one of the wooden armchairs to allow me to avoid sitting down on the dirt & stains. The paintwork & floorboard paint was very chipped, marked, flakey & the floors throughout stained, sticky & unwashed. The bathroom window doesn't close, there is a flat roof outside of it & I noted a door from the kitchen onto it, clearly a previous guest had used this space, there was litter & cigarette ends strew everywhere. One morning I was showering directly in front of the window, (frosted but no blind for privacy or keeping the draft out) when 2 men suddenly appeared directly outside of the window & were there for a long while, builders I think. I'd not been warned & had to stand in the bath with the shower curtain around to protect my privacy as much as possible unable to step out & get dry or warm for fear of them spotting me! The much needed light in the shared hallway/entrance is very much needed, old property & extremely narrow stairs. However this light was connected to one inside my accommodation, outside of the bedroom & upon arrival at 6 different times of 6+ guests for the above apartment late at night I was woken every time with the light glaring.

Loved the whole place the nooks and crannies, the old exposed brickwork and the decor Lots of extras shampoo and shower gel. Such a comfy bed and lush little terrace out the back for fresh air. Did not want to go home! Staff in Seed were amazing so friendly and helpful had a lively meal their Saturday night all round lovely weekend 😀

Lots of late night banging, shouting and very loud music from the flat upstairs both Saturday and Sunday night until early hours. Stuff thrown out of upstairs window and massive bag of running and food waste and poo left on the terrace had to sweep it up. Been ripped up by a seagul

We have stayed on George Street before, and this has been lovely. Unfortunately, the old fisherman’s nest was stated as being above a bar, sounded more like a club with the additional music bar directly opposite from that. Nice weather so a lot of people outside also, which added to the awkward entry and exit to the property as there would be tables and chairs in front of the main door. Peeling bare floorboards (multiple layers/wrong paint), boards not secure and large gaps, additionally unfortunate for what could be a nice quirky flat.
