A charming Stand and Stay flat in Alicante

Very large and tastefully decorated apartment, in a great location. It had a fully stocked modern kitchen with everything you could want. TV and AC too - although the AC is only in the main sitting room. Ceiling fans in each bedroom.

Picking up the key from 'United Renters' was a poor experience. We received a Whatsapp message telling us to go to the office to collect the keys. The lady in the office was quite dismissive - insisting that we should have received other messages letting us know details about the property, but we hadn't. It transpired that we had a 10 minute walk with all of our luggage to get to the apartment. Apartment was good overall but smelled a little musty.

Die Unterkunft hat eine sehr gute Lage. Man ist in wenigen Minuten im Zentrum und in ca. 20 Minuten am Hafen. Sie ist sehr gut ausgestattet und hat alles was man braucht.

Der Geruch in der Unterkunft ist leider sehr unangenehm. Er erinnert stark an Klimaanlage oder Schimmel. Die Matratze könnte besser sein und grunsätzlich ist das Apartment sehr dunkel.

The Apartment was very spacious, comfortable and quite beautiful really. Well equipped (2) bathrooms, plenty of storage space in wardrobes, air conditioning in the main room/kitchen area and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The owners really thought of everything for a comfortable stay whether a couple days or long term. All appliances worked well - coffee machine, toaster, refrigerator, freezer, stove, dishwasher, washing machine, clothes iron - there was even a vacuum cleaner (although I didn't test it) and a broom and mop. Quite literally AnYtHiNg you might need was there and working! The Apartment is aged - this is not a negative!! Keep in mind that you are traveling to a city that is quite old. The buildings are old. The doors might not be as new and secure as you're used to. The windows might not be double-paned. The floors might not be flat and without cracks. I think most travellers expect these details but occasionally I see reviews complaining that the place wasn't 'modern' or was 'aged' but that's part of the charm of visiting! This place was modern in the sense that it had everything and worked well, but the age of the place was apparent too. I loved the apartment with its aged charm and highly recommend it! The people at the rental agency were very polite and friendly, addressing every communication quickly and professionally. The people were great to talk with even if you didn't like the topic of conversation.

As with any place there can always be something you don't like. I had a couple issues but I don't want to complain - just things I wasn't expecting and/or different customs maybe. They had obviously fumigated recently. There were plenty of dead cockroaches every morning throughout our one week trip. The management company explained that this was a normal occurrence in the hotter months anywhere in Alicante but it was a little unsettling to wake up to these large dead bodies everyday. We only ever found one live one and chased it down before it disappeared. (Not complaining exactly, but it is unusual for us). There was some glass that was broken from a previous time. They were aware of it before we arrived and came in twice for repairing (once to pick up the damaged glass and measure and once to replace it). It was in a decorative spot so it could have been done when the place was vacant. They also replaced the shower head immediately once informed that it was broken though... priorities (for me) were different I suppose. When we arrived the first night we had to go to the rental agency to pick up the keys. After traveling all day and arriving in a new city we then had to find two locations! The rental agency office AND the apartment! This is the only thing I am actually complaining about. When someone pays you for a service, you should provide some service with it! Send someone to be at the accommodation or have a system to get the keys there (like a lockbox - which was there for the repairs but not for the tenants?!?!). This was (for me) a big mistake. I had already booked and paid for the apartment when I got this information and seriously considered cancelling because of it. I would have paid more money if they decided to charge for it! They even expected me to return the keys to their office at the end of my stay.

Дуже сподобалось. Розташування хороше. Одночасно і в центрі, але й не на самих центральних вулицях і алеях, де багато людей і шум. До центрального пляжу 12 хвилин, якщо не спішити. В квартирі 2 вані кімнати, в залі кондиціонер, в спальнях вентилятори на стелях, що дуже важливо літом.

В залі обережно зі столиком біля телевізора. Маленькі проблеми з ніжкою)
