"Female-friendly, calm, and pleasantly social."

10.0

The staff were super friendly and accommodating. One of the guys helped me with my luggage to the taxi which was incredibly kind. The staff were very attentive to ensure the girls dorm remained clean. They clean it three times per day by default. You can request extra if needed. They often organise events and it appears very naturally social. There are many Indians living there long term due to accommodation constraints. However, it’s actually nice because there’s a lot of respect as many call this place home for now. And Indian culture truly operates on a ‘mi casa es tú casa’ mentality. I felt very safe and welcomed.

I am exceptionally tall (188cm) so my legs hang out of the bed. It’s just something to know if you’re tall, too. I will say I had some of the best sleep in India here. The beds are very comfortable, you have curtains for privacy and the fan and A.C is running 24/7 at 24 degrees to ensure you stay cool without catching a cold. Let’s be honest, the surrounding area can smell pretty bad especially with the sweltering hot summer temperatures. Trash, food, the unknown and probably best that way. Nevertheless, the team are doing everything to ventilate and purify the air quality.

It felt so cozy and warm to stay at Hammock. The people and the culture is the best part about this place. I also went for a city tour that they organised and I loved every bit of it. Thankyou for the experience.

"Socially oriented hostel in the middle of Bandra"

9.0

The hostel is located right in the middle of Bandra. Around you'll find all kinds of restaurants. The hostel itself is socially oriented. Lot's of people to talk with, even now when the backpackers season is finished. We stayed in the private room and the stay was very quiet. Airco worked good. Bathroom was a bit small, but overall a very pleasant stay

This is not something the hostel can do anything about, so i didn't let it effect the rating, but a couple of hundred of meters away there a fish drying fields, which results in a strong fish smell in and around the hostel (not in the room) when the wind is coming in from the sea. Again, nothing the hostel can do anything about. It's not full-year round, we've been told.

"Perfect Stay – Great Location, Clean & Super Helpful Staff"

10.0

One of the best hostel experiences in Mumbai! Hammock Hostels has a great vibe with spacious common areas and a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly — special thanks to Arjun, Govind, and the entire team for making the stay comfortable and memorable. They truly go out of their way to assist guests. The location is also perfect, close to the beach and major spots. Cleanliness, service, and overall experience were top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mumbai!
