The Ferns - Modern Apartment With Parking & Shared Garden

The wee flat is very central in Darvel. It has been carefully thought out by Hazel and lots of wee touches like a cosy blanket in the living room if you want to use it when watching television. Kitchen well kitted out and although we did not cook when there I am sure you would find all the equipment you might need. There was washing up liquid and two tea towels, if you are staying for more than a few days you might want to bring a few more tea towels, or a kitchen roll to supplement. There was a welcome basket which was handy for the first breakfast as well as coffee and tea bags and sugar. The heating is easy to use and there are enough radiators to heat the space quickly. In the bathroom there is an electric shower over the bath and you are supplied with toiletries and a couple of toilet rolls as well as 2 sets of towels. There is a washing machine but we didn’t need it, As we are older I found the bath high to step in and out of. There is a wee fold up stool which helps, but Hazel has taken on board my comments that a grab rail screwed onto the tiles at the end of the bath would be a great help and make it safer. She is very attentive to messages and makes you feel special and that she wants you to be happy in her home, and that counts,

There are no negatives really about the flat. The entry system at the front door is excellent.

The property was as shown on the website. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bedroom was cosy and the living room/kitchen was fine too. The weather was rainy and cold but the apartment was still comfortable. There was enough equipment, of good quality, in the kitchen to cook for ourselves. There is a tv which connects easily with all streaming services. Darvel is a decent town with local walks (including going to see some boars) there are a couple of pubs one of which serves food all day. The locals are friendly and passers by say hello. It is also a good base to travel further afield as roads are ok. Parking at the property was fine as well.

Slight issue gaining access to the property but Hazel responded very promptly to rectify

Stayed at the Ferns for a couple of nights as I was working in the area, it’s location was perfect, with it being close to local Supermarket’s, food outlets, and was ideal also for using local public transport to my place of work as I don’t drive. The Ferns itself as an apartment was immaculate with everything provided that you would need whilst staying there, right down to the thoughtful cookies left out for me on my arrrival, Hazel was a perfect host also, nothing was to much for her.

Quite easy to find, with some off street parking. Hazel had the heating on for my arrival, which was very much appreciated. Nice decor throughout the flat, with everything needed for a short stay. ( with lots of thoughtful touches) Very comfortable bed, and a nice shower. Highly recommended.

The parking was a bit tricky for my large car, but I managed.

It was so cute and cozy. Not just aesthetically pleasing. Comfy bed and couch. Beautiful tub with hot ready-to-go water. Pretty garden out back.

Public transit was a tiny bit tricky so hiring a taxi was a better option for us. I was fine with it but my niece likes a little more convenience.
