The CK Hotel

Contemporary decor, newly refurbished. The very pro-active and helpful young lady at the front desk.

It was unclean. The floor of our room was covered in black hair, there were pubic hairs and urine on the toilet seat and more black hairs all over the sink and shower area. The receptionist was horrified when we told her and offered us a room ‘upgrade’ but the room offered did not have a balcony so we asked if she could arrange for housekeeping to clean our room properly. And older gentleman arrived promptly - he cleaned the toilet but otherwise just moved the hair around the room. We think perhaps he couldn’t see particularly well. We stayed two nights in Chau Doc but chose to spend our second night elsewhere - our second night’s accommodation was spotlessly clean. The lighting on the balconies is part of the hotel ‘look’ - see their photos - and is kept on all night and even when the curtains are closed it was quite bright in the room which wasn’t an issue for us but may be for others. It is on a main road and there is traffic noise so if you are looking for a quiet night then ask if they have any rooms that don’t overlook the street.

Newly renovated, the rooms were spotless and very comfortable. I loved the recently added elevator!

Freshly renovated, great location at the end of a local fish market and only ~10 minutes walk from our arrival spot at the boat terminal (Victoria hotel). We enjoyed walking along the river which is only minutes away, as well as having coffee on the street with locals. There’s a park with temple at its centre at the end of this block, which is interesting for a little walk.

Over all it was good value for money for this small room, but some room for improvement: Tiny bathroom with shower over the toilet, so everything gets wet. Hair left from previous guests and sheets were clean but stained. Air conditioning blew right on our heads despite adjusting it as much as possible.
