Beautiful location that's about it.

Awful musty/mouldy smell never left, even though the humidifier was on as well as heater to heat a VERY cold space. The photos are misleading, I realised post booking and not having read the reviews but rather paid attention to the scorecard of 9.2, that a number of guest complained about the things we endured during our stay. We checked out 2 days early as the smell that was coming from the bathroom was horrendous. As a host myself, I would never keep what I term "kakkies en bakkies" in a space to let. It appears this accommodation is a dumping ground for all and anything unwanted. Each kitchen cupboard is filled with 40 year old crockery and "junk" - Under the bed was a skanky carpet rolled up, cleaning equipment, boxes you name it. I took the ONLY 2 small bath towels to the laundry to be cleaned, 1 was misplaced, so I replaced with new. The kitchen stove we never used, the state was appalling, any coffee cup or plate we took out of the cupboard STANK of mould, I washed each cup/plate before using, the freezer door once opened battled to close, due to the ice build up. Brooms/pans are kept in cupboard in the lounge. Threadbare linen. FILTHY BED BLANKET. The saving grace of this space is being next to Chardonnay deli /Dalebrook Cafe and across the road from Dalebrook pool. To this day I don't even know the Host names. When asked upon my arrival at the local grocer, whether the accommodation had a Nespresso, I was promptly told that they are self catering and dont supply pods. Just 2 weeks before staying at Dalebrook I stayed a local cottage (R400 cheaper), the host had left 10 pods of nespresso, 3 mini packs of biltong, 3 packs nuts, rusks, 1l fresh milk, 2 bottles spring water all from Woolworths. He checked in with me daily, 100% more than I ever expected and for that reason I will book his space when I return to South Africa. The hosts of Dalebrook need to pull up their socks.

Everything you need. Well equipped kitchen. Situated in the main street.

Right next to the main road, so it can be a bit noisy, especially from passers-by!

Perfectly situated. Walking distance from everything. The washing machine and dishwasher were a major bonus. Felt very secure and loved that it was one street away from the ocean.

The location is superb! The kitchen is fully stocked, and bonus for the washing machine. This apartment really feels like staying in a friend's summer house: very homely. The tidal pool across the road must be visited for a morning/evening dip!

Parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so you are not guaranteed space. The kitchen cupboards smelled of mould. A bit hard to find space to hang laundry. It would have been a lovely gesture to leave a small container of milk in the fridge on arrival, so you can have a cuppa straight away.

The location was perfect and so was our stay. Thank you.
