The Rose and Crown

Good location to our friends and Ample parking. The room was lovely and cosy, bed comfortable and clean! The owner Edyta was so welcoming and showed us all the rooms she had which were all lovely but i stayed with ours (no.2) as i prefer the smaller room! I also slept well (might have something to also do with the fresh country air). Continental breakfast that came with the room was fab. Loved the freshly baked croissants. Thanks for having us and we will be back. Just as a side note we also had Sunday carvery there and it was lovely, you got to choose the meats you wanted which were carved in front of you and then you helped yourself to the sides and roasties. All yummy especially the swede mash and home made Yorkshires!

I do regret not giving feedback to the amiable owner, James, who though I didn't require breakfast on the last morning, kindly offered and I accepted a coffee and warm croissant before driving back 100 miles home. Overall the room was comfortable. Good points. The touch-the-base and immediate illumination of room, the flush-only-when depressed toilet button (very eco friendly) and the modern bathroom mirror with the incorporated demister.

The mattress is too soft. More of a trampoline than mattress. I enjoy a hot shower. The water was scolding, too hot to stand in. I decanted in order to to use effectively.

A beautiful character building and comfortable beds in a very good room. Quiet rural location convenient for Sherborne. We were welcomed by Edyta and made to feel at home - nothing was too much trouble. A good breakfast in the beautiful dining areas full of tradition and history.

All was good.

The Room was beautiful, clean and had everything you needed. The staff were exceptional. They were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend, we will definitely be coming back.

Hot tap in sink a bit dodgy. Couldn't work out how to make shower cooler once on hottest temp. But no complaints really. A lovely relaxing stay.
